I was worried about that, Werebear. It would definitely add to the already-too-long wait time if I have to go wake the dead.

Rather than trying to make it work, though, it might be simpler to scrap all of that extra stuff. I'm afraid that if I try to make it work that it might make things muddier than if we just went into "sudden-death" mode and stripped it to only the basic mafia workings. This way, you can try to interperet what had happened previously, while not having to compare what Darkblade did with what I guessed at. Make any sense? Also, if I can't get exact PMs from most people, especially those getting replaced, it would be impossible to get this running back the way it was, anyway, so why bother?

The Cadets have decided it was time to stop fooling around and get down to business. While a storm rages on outside, and it approaches midnight, the remaining Cadets have locked theirselves in the mess hall for a final confrontation. It seems that Leonidas and Someone have vanished into the night, probably frightened of the ensuing altercation. It is time.

Well, it's just like you are replacing in a normal game, there is plenty of information that the ten of you can use to try to find the remaining scum. But just don't expect them to be able to defend themselves properly if you only focus on their predecessor's actions. Some players might not even know what there role was supposed to be. So, if you are able, please don't hold it against them.

A brilliant flash followed by a deafening thunder-clap stuns everyone into complete silence. That couldn't have been far, and for a moment the immediate danger outside almost superseded the danger inside. But sitting in the silence gave you time to think about all of the dead cadets -- some friends, some enemies, but all alive one second, dead the next. You mustn't lose focus of the real threat present in this room.

At this point, treat this as a new game, not one that is close to finishing. Use the 40 pages of previous conversations as a starting point, but not as a crutch. It's just a 10 player mini with no roles, and a long back story.

As for inactives, I appreciate everyone's concern, but I am aware of the situation. Please show a little patience. This is a difficult game to get replacements for. All that you as players can do about the situation is to vote for them. At least you have
some
info that will help make a better decision on lynching lurkers than during a normal Day 1.

Some yell that they want to be the one that kills him. Some try to persuade the group into just tying him up. And a few just sit quietly in horror about what they are about to witness.

The argument has reached a heated level when another nearby lightning bolt shuts off the power. Everyone is left momentarily blinded, but each cadet already had their eyes focused on their target. EnPaceRaquiescat leaps from his chair, but not soon enough to evade the oncoming fist of the fastest cadet. Almost everyone's focus is involved in the ensuing fracas... almost.

The lights twinkle back on, and slowly each of you examines the aftermath. The first thing that is obvious is that
EnPaceRaquiescat
is most certainly dead. The next thing everyone notices is that
mathcam
is still lying on the floor in an increasingly large pool of blood. Someone kicks him over onto his back. His throat has been slashed and the blade was left beside him.

You look through both of their pockets but can't find anything that discredits either of their stories. Everyone returns to their seats in silence, and then the accusations begin anew.

One by one the cadets began to turn on him; Flying Dutchman saw his last window of opportunity disappearing. As the last vote was cast, he was up in the blink of an eye and heading straight for the light switch, deftly avoiding all chairs and tables in the process. The lights were off before any of them could make it halfway...

One of the cadets did manage to get the knife that was used on (the previous) mathcam before the lights went out. Now, in the sudden darkness, all that is heard is the grunts and yelps of the persuing cadets bumping their way towards Flying Dutchman's last location. However, he had other plans; he was already unlocking the door preparing to run through.

In the quick flashes of lightning, the cadet with the knife managed to spot Flying Dutchman's escape attempt. Clinging to the fading vision of the mess hall layout, the cadet picked his pace up enough to reach Flying Dutchman before he could get out. By the time someone had turned the lights back on,
Flying Dutchman
was dead outside the door, the knife deep into his back.

The cadets dragged corpse in and made their way back to their seats. On the way, someone noticed Cadmium seemed to have stumbled during the chase and had yet to arise. They first joked on the cadet's possible injury, assuming he had twisted an ankle or something similarly mundane. However, once someone had made it to the prone cadet, it was obvious this wasn't your average trip and fall. Someone had expertly broken
Cadmium
's neck.

After checking both of their pockets the cadets come to the conclusion that neither of them were involved. That is, until someone noticed a few slips of paper in one of Flying Dutchman's socks. It seems someone was passing him notes... notes with cadets' names... the names of the murdered cadets!

PeaceBringer was no coward; he was not about to flee like the rest of them. He is instantly out of his seat and assaulting one of the cadets before any of the others realize what is happening. The force of the first punch sends the cadet sprawling on the floor. PeaceBringer wastes no time mounting the dazed cadet and continuing the onslaught. Soon all of the cadets pile on trying to seperate PeaceBringer from his victim...

The rest tried to hold PeaceBringer off, but they were having significant problems. By now, EnPaceRaquiescat was out cold, but it didn't slow PeaceBringer in the slightest. "He's going to kill us all, don't you see that?" he screamed.

They finally pull him off but he is still out of control and started attacking the other cadets. Eventually they get him on the ground, kicking and screaming. After a lengthy struggle to keep him down, one of the cadets smashes his face with his steel toed boot.
PeaceBringer
is dead.

They head back over to EnPaceRaquiescat to see how bad he got it. That's when they notice the knife in his side. Someone must've slipped it out of the other corpse and got it in him while everyone was piled on. They only thing the cadets are sure of is that it wasn't PeaceBringer.

They check PeaceBringer and come to the conclusion that he was never in with the killers.
EnPaceRaquiscat
is piled with the other corpses.

This is it. The remaining cadets know that they need to find the last killer, and do it fast.

Hours seem to go by, and still nothing happens. They had thought the storm was moving on, but it seems to be growing steadily worse as the cadets sit and stare at each other.

The situation has gotten incredibly tense. They can sense that something is going to happen and none of them so much as blink to keep from missing it. The thunder and lightening continually fills the room with flashes and rumbles. And then, one so close as to make all of them jump in unison, knocks the power out for good. They scamper around in the darkness simultaneously looking for a source of light and watching out for the killer. One of the cadets does know where a couple flashlights are stored and is heading off in that direction (at least he hopes).

Sudden yelps burst out of the ominous darkness. No one can be sure where it is coming from, or who is involved. They go on for a few seconds, and finally a plea for help from the voice of Vraak X is heard. And then, it is silent once more.

Several minutes pass... One of the remaining cadets is now searching for the door. Another has found the supply chest and is frantically searching for a flashlight. And the last cadet has decided it is safer to just stay put; at least that way he can hear if anyone approaches him.

A flashlight pierces the darkness, and all of them look towards its target:
Vraak X
's dead body. Once they become accustomed to the light, they spot each other. Feeling somewhat safer near the light, they all head back for the final vote.

Finally, there is an agreement. pwnz accepts his fate, and just slumps in his chair. Since he isn't putting up a fight, shadyforce and mathcam decide to tie him up -- no need to kill him if they don't have to. However, while mathcam is finishing the final knot, he feels the knife go into his back. As he falls to the floor, he looks up just in time to see pwnz panic before the knife is plunged into his heart.

The mess hall is quiet once more. Smiling, shadyforce proudly surveys the scene. He continues to grin as he walks out into the storm.

Actually, the main thing I thought shadyforce had going against him was that if he was a "confirmed" cop by Day 2, why is he still alive? :D

Any comments on my first time moderating? I did realize after the fact that I should've put a final vote count at the end of each day. :oops:

Yeah, but I didn't think it would matter as the only night choice was scum, and they already knew the result.
