This is the best compromiseIn post 156, Bingle wrote:The breaking strategy oka got from me is probably breaking, yes. It’s also incredibly unfun and I’d rather not use it. I also don’t townread oka for suggesting it because I am in the game and the strategy was not hard to find.
I would like to do two slight optimizations: 1 the consensus towniest player is the hammerer. 2 players who are likely to be eliminated be off wagon.
A win while having fun is more rewarding than a win where you play sudoku using a chess engine-

Just checking if I understand correctly; do you mean we should restrain the amount of hoods each player can live in?In post 184, Cupcake Butterfly wrote:

Bell - town
Oka - town
As for setup spec, I think limiting the wagons people are on to 2 or 3 maximum is a way to minimize the risk of blocking and parking.
- This forces scum to either block together to a few central hoods or spread out and lose hood power.
- This gives town more breathing room - it almost ensures majority of town across most, if not all of the hoods, even in the event of repeated mislims.
If we truly are having an even-distribution of players among every neighborhood, even if we don't have a 6th hood (assuming everybody votes), most players will only be at 2 neighborhoods with this approach.
But this is my shot at the mech discussion, and likely only. I think spending more time than not on mech strategy is a distraction.-

VOTE: Gamma Emerald
I find it scummy that you voted someone who only expressed a want to vote you and not someone on your wagon who actually went through with it. Voting someone who didn't commit yet feels like a bullying tactic (not in a social manner, mind you, but it is a bit rude) to keep them away.
That, and justifying it like you are is weak.
Gamma voting Dusa over anyone on his wagon to scare her away from voting him is a very bizarre take. I'm also not sure why you're starting on the premise that Gamma should be better suited to vote someone on his wagon
Deliberating whether you're scum or think in a very strange way-

I did read this, but I don't agree with it either. I don't believe Gamma was looking to engage with anyone on his wagon, he was just voting Dusa for reasons unrelated to her expressing interest in voting him, because of her gimmick that isIn post 216, Hypothermia wrote:In post 115, Gamma Emerald wrote:
What the hell does this meanIn post 105, Dusa wrote:I would also vote Gamma Emerald if the game had started! We need to save up some gems and unlock it!@GuiltyLion
These two posts were the driving factor for my vote on Gamma. I don’t think I clarified as well as I could have.
Gamma at that point I believe had three votes; he engaged with one with sarcasm but did not make an attempt to really communicate with the people on him. Instead he sees someone who expressed a want to vote him and voted there, which is... confusing to me. I would want to understand more why a small wagon had formed on me even if it’s early, and I was imposing that onto Gamma as well. Engaging with someone on the merits of their posting style felt to me like it was a veiled attempt to dissuade Dusa from that sentiment in an aggressive manner.
Alternatively, I guess it could just be scum!Gamma not knowing how to engage with “stronger” players on his wagon yet but that more than anything is where I feel I’d be uncharitable. But it was the thing that pinged me in this game so far.
You’re correct that I’ve invented motivation though, but that’s just the point of scumhunting I think.
Could you explain why you think Dusa would be dissuaded from voting Gamma after being attacked, rather than persuaded?-

I like this thoughtIn post 394, Dannflor wrote:Bell feels distinctly different from his scum game. I wouldn't like bet my life's savings on it yet but I might bet the contents of the jar of rainy day cash savings that sits on my desk. The sort of LAMIST vibes people were picking up from him are... I think... emblematic of his town play. Bell is a little more uhhh self conscious as scum. I'm still watching him closely. Yes, you Bell. I'm watching you. Keep this posting up. Don't start going scummy
Gamma Emerald reminds me of that one game where I was scum and died immediately because Flavor Leaf is good at this game. GE isn't low hanging fruit per se, but his entrances often leave a lot of room for scum to jump on him. He tends to poke at the outrageous, and thence becomes outrageous himself, which is a literal beacon for scum to jump on. thusly, I am incredibly incredulous at the hypothesis that his wagon is/was all town. I mean, regardless of his alignment I am incredulous, but especially if he is town, which I do believe to be the case.
I sorta already touched on this I think but with the amount of pressure GE was under, I think scum!him maybe tries to develop a more nuanced reasoning for his push on Dusa. At worse, his frustration with Dusa is NAI. The fact that he's rather unworried about his wagon is also +town. I mean Gamma is experienced, he won't freak out, but he didn't lurk out and instead has remained quite active + playing the game and that's ususally a harder response for scum to pull off in response to a wagon wagon
FakeGod might be town just for not caring much where his vote is right now? Idk. I see the performative argument too. He's in the OkaPoka boat of "I want them to be town but they're sorta dancing around playing the game / saying what's on their mind." no I will not take that back
bingle bingle bingle. all I remember from you is that town reading Oka is undeserved.
DGB is like town. I will not be reevaluating at this time.
I was half-kidding with UNOwen town but reading back I actually really like that read. I will not be taking questions at this time.
Hypothermia ehhhhh. The trouble with all these secret alts is figuring out if they're mafia or players with slightly more out there logic than normal. Also, I keep mixing up Hypthermia with Cupcake in my head. They're both just occupying a spot in my brain of GET YOUR LUKE WARM MAFIA TAKES HERE. LUKE WARM TAKES. LOOKS AS VANILLA AS CAN BE. might be mafia trying to not make waves. might be townies who I haven't got a bead on yet or haven't got a bead on the game yet, who knows.
Solo performative
I voted Savethedragons because Bell was voting there. I'm continuing to vote Savethedragons because they haven't moved passed their Gamma vote 10 pages ago and seemingly can't move on to any new horizons despite the endless possibilities this particular rousing game of mafia has offered us all.
the dragons will not be saved this game-
