Another question for seasoned dance game veterans.
Does the pairs typically end up being more likely scum the later they pair up? Because i got that vibe from Squid game where like 5/6 of the scum were almost all in the last team pairing when people were asked to form teams. I didn't want to ask this previously because scum knowing beforehand could skew this statistic.

In my experience with dance games, it has never worked trying to min max pairing. Like ever. People just do what they feel like doing.

Most of the pairings have not been yolo pairings like how most of the ones I've played have.

The only ones I would consider yolo pairings are yours and fire/andante's. Norwe/Marci is borderline

I don't like them as an endgame pair either, for what it's worth. I don't have much of a read on either of them but I wasn't a huge fan of Harley leaning into her "if you scumread me then you are trash garbage" shtick so heavy-handedly.

What do you mean by that? I mean like how does being universally town read make your reads worse?

Because I cannot discern who actually townreads me VS who knows that I am town. Instinctively the first question I would otherwise have to help determine I'd someone is informed is if they know I am town.

It's why I read reverse so quickly and strongly in games. I no longer know if I'm entirely scumsiding by taking a player in good faith or if my tunnel is what scum wants because it's never a clear agenda of theirs to work against someone who is borderline mislimmable.

If I endgame in these games, I've lost simply because of how paranoid the final players have gotten to me, Slaughter Hour is the most recent example.

It sucks and it's enough to get me to consider flaking.

I'm always such a pessimist about how people read me and how people value my ability to read my partner that it's just much less of a headache to play around leaving earlier

Starry Night I paired with MariaR and became essentially the second IC, but literally everyone in the dead thread and half the main thread were so paranoid that I was pocketed that I had to play around making a different pair the everywhere pair instead of taking my townread to the grave

I wonder if I've just found their playstyle appealing and feel a bit blinded there.

I've townread them for awhile because I could not attach a scum agenda and they've been generally a pleasant slot this game, plus some mindmelding at certain points that aren't at the top of my head.

I think their stances so far have not been very unique so it is not a strong read either way.

What do you think?

I'm pretty easily blindsided by the more oldschool players and STD seems like one of them

it's just kinda yikes since that pairing is the most likely third pairing I think I can be confident in reading TvT but I'm really not confident I can read STD well enough to do that

I don't wanna lim anybody in the upper two tiers and I'm fine with anyone in the bottom two tiers flipping. top tier is people I'd probably bet the game on being town, second tier is I feel good about them and would only revisit if there were some really surprising flips, third tier is I feel one of these must be POE scum but I haven't got anything super strong against them, bottom tier I really don't feel they've done anything they wouldn't do as scum and I don't feel like they're solving or were vested in limming scum!marci

Scum are focusing on survival, not winning

That means likely that there is one designated scum that is to be the endgame pair, or that scum feel completely outclassed, or that town was off enough that they just feel they need to spread out enough and watch town implode
