@ABR: I don't see any reason for people to claim damaging abilities. Given the hit point mechanic there will certainly be multiple ways for people to damage others, judging from the past. If we want to direct damaging abilities to one person it should be pretty simple to do so without having to have every single person who has the capability out themselves.

Let's break this shit DOWN. Order in the town list corresponds to how early I read you as town on the reread, but also not forgetting my previous impressions of each player.
Ready to kick some Wizards' ass
IceyCupcake - vote on Pine is very reasonable and very town-mindset when Pine doesn't wish to go along with the vote-Icey plan.
Pine - jumping at every goddamn shadow, reads as having some type of accuracy/inferiority complex
WrathChild - what was that, like seventeen different votes at the beginning of the game? Doesn't care to be scrutinized.

Icey didn't claim Jester, nub. Jester-like, as in needs votes to accomplish something. But please, Icey, go ahead and tell us if you actually are third party.
See, this stubbornness makes you town. Just find something correct to latch onto.
For those that don't want the ABR assignment, I want thoughts on CMAR/Katy scumpair. The timing of Katy's point (which probably just needs clarification?) and CMAR's loldidKatyslip? post is tinfoil-worthy.

With no associative tells to be established how can you say someone is town but still possibly third party?Soben wrote:Pine and inHimshallibe wrote: Only if Icey is something other than Town, which you already stated you think they are. So, which is it? Compliance commensurate with your earlier confidence, or fabricated reads?
I'll attempt to reexplain it because it seems you're having difficulty understanding. I currently have atown-readon IceyCupcake. Thistown-readis based around the fact that I fail to see any real scum-motivation behind his outright demand as it directs attention towards him instantly. I do however see a possibilty that Icey is indeedthird party, thus following his orders involves immese risk whereas not doing so has no real harm.Show"I'm from Indiana. I feel there's some disconnect in reading Icey as Town, realizing that if Icey is indeed some third party with an alt win condition it won't preclude town from a win, and then not following your Town read of Icey by following their plan.Soben wrote:inHimshallibe wrote:With no associative tells to be established how can you say someone is town but still possibly third party?
OP wrote: Roles and factions: This is a rather vanilla-less setup. All factions have a winnable condition. If a win condition is achieved, and it doesn't directly interfere with the win condition of another faction, the game will keep on. For example, if the win condition of a player is to get certain player lynched, should that player achieve that condition (and no other win condition is achieved at the same time), the game can keep on. There is at least one town faction and one scum faction. Town faction is called Sorcerers, while scum faction is called Wizards. Other factions may exist, and they may have wizards, sorcerers, or other classes.
The OP implies multiple third party roles in the setup, Iceys win condition could simply be to recieve x amount of votes during the game thus although I don't see him as scum I have no reason to vote him.
Do you think Scum and Anti-Town third parties are found by different means on D1?Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan

I agree that there is a difference. However, rule of [number] says there's a good chance one of those "agreeing" is actually scum "piggybacking." It's just easier to isolate a group of three and work from there. Given current circumstances, I'm less liable to lean on that approach for now.

Correction on the red - gandalf is in on that group as well. Too many contingencies to deal with, but gandalf doesn't exactly give me enough warm fuzzies to state the bold as confidently as I originally did.
Of course, that relies on SGRaaize being scum in the first place, which I've backed off the wagon for now.

Of course not.But the hydra just said they have different roles, so asking for clarification is in order.
I asked you a question, Beefster. I see you dodging it, though.
While nothing more needs to be said about Beefster's obviously nothing-of-substance attacks on me, I'm commenting to confirm what I suspected at first. If Pine flips scum, this is a blatant chainsaw by Beefster.

But seriously, Amrun? I agree with Beefster, you're being intentionally obtuse/deliberate. I haven't decided what this means about your alignment, but if you're Town, tighten up.Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan

I've been pondering over this about recently and still don't believe it's the best way to go mainly due to the fact that 'redirection' or said attacks would be devastating for us -The OP states that redirection occurs before the damage is dealt.
Reading this as adding extraneous bits of information to boost what is perceived as a "lacking" post. What game do you know of where damage wouldn't be redirected?Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan

Why did you vote me, anyways?
I looked at the early-game momentum, put a couple lists of people building momentum, and voted Mana_Ku off that list. Was deterred and so I decided if CHESSKID was probtown I should give his wagon a looksie. Saw you flailing about like a Magikarp and voted along. I have since decided you are a real person, but just do not choose to play one on the Internet.Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan

It's an interesting vote count imo. I've had Beefster down as a town read (strong) and am curious to find him as the leading votegetter.

What makes it interesting is that there are six people involved: Beefster and his voters. Take out my read (Beefster as town) and Mana_Ku, and you have 4.
Groups of 4 are interesting, as anyone in the game usually has about a 1/4 chance of being scum. When I find four people on a wagon I consider to be on town, it causes isolation and, in turn, happiness.
I've already stated that Beefster's response to ABR's question about damaging abilities was very likely town. And yes, probably bad town as you put it, but town nonetheless.Show"I'm from Indiana. I know what you're thinking: Indiana... Mafia." - Jim Gaffigan

No lets explore Amrun a bit further. You tossed out that you weren't too happy with her a few pages back regarding the Beef wagon. Where are you now?
