Kdowns, I defend anyone who I feel deserves it. He could have random voted in a later post. Maybe he actually wanted to think about it. And few random votes end up sticking very long, so it's not necessary to make one at all. Besides, the Mafia wants to kill Town and make people unable to read them. Random voting would seem like a good way to encourage that, as opposed to not trying to kill anyone and waiting for discussion.

Like I said, I defend him because there is no serious case against him. Random voting is usually just as it says-randomly voting for someone AKA voting without reason. Refusing to vote without reason is perfectly sound, and that is why I defend him. If I defend someone, I do it because I believe they deserve defending. Discussion is not started by random voting alone, but more by comments people make, either on their own or with the votes. Even if I think a player is Mafia, I would still defend them if someone else were to go after them with a reason that didn't hold up to me.

Matt, despite what you may think, you still really have no grasp on how I play. I barely got to play that first game, and even if you're reading along with the second, you've no idea what my role or most other players roles are yet.

And again, you really don't know my play style. In a game with generally only three possible factions, it's easy to guess someone is one and end up being right. That doesn't automatically mean your reasoning was right or you have a grasp on how that person plays.
