In post 18, mykonian wrote:yeeaaaaah, I don't know enough people in this game. Will be fun. All kinds of new people to play with!

And because RVS is so boring, lets do a quick RQS.

I saw Junpei do this one time. He was scum.

In post 49, manho wrote:i agree.

unvote, vote: mafia-noob

I don't like this vote one bit. It screams, "Oh hey, I'm just going to pile onto this bandwagon!"

In post 50, Maruchan wrote:VOTE: mafia noob

Ditto this. Mafia-n00b's vote cry of OMGUS was scummy as shit, but you two idiots are being lazy with this "me too" crap.

In post 51, Trojan Horse wrote:I think I need to recalibrate my scumdar. That post by mafia-n00b didn't even make a blip until myko spoke up.

*recalibrates scumdar*

Okay, hopefully it works now.

Unvote

Vote: mafia-n00b

And by now it's just ridiculous.

In post 54, mafia-n00b wrote:Aaaaaand so it continues.

My meta is that people always think I'm scum early game... ALWAYS. For completed games, 2 town, 1 scum... everyone thought I was scum right off the bat... and I'm not even sure why.

Case in point: I vote RVS (with a bogus vote.. but hey, all votes in RVS are bogus). I respond to a vote on me with a snarky OMGUS accusation. This is somehow so scummy that a wagon develops? I honestly don't get it.

holy fucking shit, man

now I'm starting to think you're scum that's whining that you've been caught for the wrong reason. here's a hint, dude:

IF PEOPLE ALWAYS THINK YOU'RE SCUM, PERHAPS YOU SHOULD STOP DOING STUPID THINGS

it may be hard to wrap your head around, i know

For unvoting.

1) Manho didn't unvote, you illiterate dumbass

2) If you found scum, why'd you vote someone else?

In post 77, MattP wrote:Ok, I wanted to see your reaction but it kind of backfired hehe

NO, REACTION FISHING IS A PISS-POOR EXCUSE FOR STUPID ACTIONS. why do people do this? if you fucked up, just say you fucked up.

In post 101, Kublai Khan wrote:

Why? Cause I can :D

A) is an absolutely ridiculous thing to say: even if you think I'm a douche, I'm pretty obviously being serious and scumhunting. And it doesn't fucking matter if you "know" that I think you're town, you should want to know why I said it. What if I were scum trying to buddy you? (then I would be an idiot because there are better players to buddy, but I digress)

B) again, you should care where people's townreads come from

do yourself a huge fucking favor and don't fall into maruchan's "trolololol he's trolling" crap. That's how scum minimize the cases against them

mykonian made a pretty bad misrep of Zdenek there. It's true that Zdenek did NOT say "bandwagoning doesn't exist" or something similar - he said that early-game bandwagoning is not a legit scumtell. If you believe otherwise, mykonian, you should be lynching yourself, manho, Maruchan, and Trojan.

Several of MattP's posts have also been bad, but TBH I don't really have a place I feel comfortably planting a vote on yet.

Agreed about mykonian, misrepresenting seems to be his M.O.?

I don't like the "this is normal for manho." Reeks of soft-defending a buddy.

No, I'm not scum trying hard to mislynch. I'm town trying to get a good lynch as soon as I can. Early game is when stuff happens.

comfirm vote manho

no no no NO NO

sometimes the "easy target" is retarded scum

He has repeatedly misrepresented the cases put against him, he has dismissed the same, he has accused people of doing the very things he himself has done. I mean, come on, can you SERIOUSLY NOT SEE WHY ANYONE WOULD THINK HE IS SCUM?

here's one for you: if by some crazy chance Maru is town? You're scum White-Knighting him because you already know his alignment

In post 168, Maruchan wrote:[Sigh, this means I have to start paying attention now don't I? Can't we just get to the night phase so we can have flips and FUNNESS? Related: Should we kick off Day 2 with a popcorn target-claim?]

Vote: manho

I'm now comfortable putting my vote here for the moment.

Jesus, Wraith, I'm liking you more and more as Maru's buddy. Call the wagon legitimate without actually joining it, much? Classic indicator of testing the waters before bussing.

BY ALL FUCKING MEANS SCHOOL ME ON MAFIA THEORY

how many fucking times have you seen lurkers get lynched for lurking? How many players have you seen coast to endgame after lurkaderping?

I assure you the latter exceeds the former. I'd be willing to bet that no lurker has felt pressured to post in probably the last three years, just because they're seen as easytargets.

I think this post is a strong indication that Maru and Wraith aren't scum together. I don't think scum would continue to buddy after being called out, seems counter-intuitive for scum to do.

so they get called out and you expect the reaction to be "no we aint! Look! I hate him, see?"

dude, hell, in Gay Mafia, me and DGB buddied all fucking game as scum buddies. Hell, we even had the entire scum team voting in a block together.

I feel you. My biggest problem with reading people this game is that about five of them have been all, "trolololol reaction test" and another handful have been OMGUSy as shit, and oh god, in a game with a less derpy town, none of these people would ever get NK'd because taking any of them to endgame would assure a win.

Lemme read over MattP again, since he's one of the few people in this game whose posts don't make me want to hate my eyes.

since it's too damn late to suggest that we pair off evens and odds to try and figure out our sanities, I'm just gonna target maruchan tonight. Maruchan, be on me. Hopefully one of us dies and the other will know his own sanity. And not one of you idiots better be on either of us. If one of you claims to be on me or maru N1 it'll be treated as a scum claim. I don't want any shenanigans getting in the way of maru and I trying to kill one another.

hmmmm evens odds would help us figure out sanity pretty well I think.

1 protexts 2, 2 protects 1. 3 protects 4, 4 protects 3.

We buddy system, and hopefully figure out a couple of CPR docs or Quacks. Doesn't help scum know who to kill since they don't know our sanities either.

still a little iffy because of jailkeeper doc, (jailkeeper could be roleblocking vig doc from killing him)

but I think it gives us a better chance than targeting people at random

how? They don't know our sanities: for all they know, the doc on them could be sane

and further, they only get one kill.

everyone targeting whothefuckever just leads to "lolololol I don't know my sanity because I don't know what else was on my target"

I probably am sane.

I never get the good roles. :(

like, I'd be the perfect person to get a vig kill. But I've only been a oneshot vig once, and never a serial killer. ALL I WANT IS TO KILL PEOPLE AT NIGHT WITHOUT HAVING TO ANALYSE THEM FOR SOFTCLAIMS OR WHO IS MOST TOWN OR WHO SUSPECTS ME OR ANY OF THAT OTHER CRAP THAT SCUM HAVE TO CONSIDER WHEN THEY KILL

FOR FUCKS SAKE, I'VE BEEN A DOC SO MANY TIMES. JUST ONCE, I WANNA BE A QUACK.

I PRAY TO THE GODS OF MURDER FOR THIS ONE CHANCE TO VIG PEOPLE.

I'm at work right now, but ONCE AGAIN I GET TO NOT BE A VIG

Whichever of you idiots it was that suggested us as scumbuddies should keep in mind that it doesn't confirm either of our alignments, nor was it inteded to. All it does is confirm to me that I'm not a quack.

like, seriously, the idea that I would tey and use it to "confirm" myself is so fucking insulting that I should hope it doesn't come from town.

we weren't trying to sacrifice ourselves, you dumb shit, we're trying to kill one another.

Like the two derps that thought I would somehow try and spin cross-doc'ing into being seen as more town? Which happen to be the same two derps that blew their claimwad? Hmm.

I'm actually insulted that MattP would suggest I try that. I'm not that dumb. Which is kinda sad since I'm stupid enough to claim mason with my own scum buddy after the real masons had claimed.

Why would it be a dumb move?

Uh, because sooner or later one of us would be called upon to protect someone?

As for the "reaction," that's even stupider: what I'm saying is that it looks scummy as shit that you would suggest it, and even scummier the people that came along and went "oh yeah I agree"

Aha, so you know that we're docs?

and I am dead set against admitting it's a possibility BECAUSE IT IS NOT A GOD DAMN POSSIBILITY YOU FUCKING IDIOT

WHY THE FUCK WOULD I CONSIDER SOMETHING POSSIBLE WHEN I KNOW IT IS WRONG?

Would you consider the possibility that you are a wombat? Why not?

mafia, that isn't what you said. You forgot to include the possibility we weren't docs at all.

quick, go over to your QT and find out how to gloss over that perspective slip before you get bussed

give it up, dummy. You aint getting this mislynch. You want a piece of meta? Take this back to your scum QT: I don't get lynched as town. Only two people have pulled it off, and the rest got fucking curbstomped. And you damn well aint as good as CKD or GepreyICE.

I'm not worried about your vote. Your vote was scummy. Big difference.

You're also forgetting that you questioned why I wouldn't consider MattP's scenario as possible. I'm not willing to consider as possible anything that involves me being scum, because it's false. Why would I consider something false to be possible? The fact that you even asked me that shows you were dropped on your head as a child. Probably for a whole week. While living in a crack den.

His speculation is pure fucking derp. Distilled and bottled idiocy. You backing it up is just dumbass scum (fucking n00b) trying to find someplace comfortable.

In post 490, MattP wrote:I still don't understand how my speculation is derp. There are two valid reasons scum would do it (to avoid being targeted and to ensure they aren't limited to certain roles by the end of the first night). I understand why you don't agree with it and think it's idiotic from YOUR standpoint, but from my stance it's a good observation. I actually rubbed myself off to the fact that I came up with it.

It's stupid because first of all, it assumes a level of skill from Maruchan that not one fucking person on this site would vouch for. Secondly, it's not my style, as anyone who's seen me as scum can vouch for. Thirdly, it assumes that I'm the RAAAAAAAAAAAA FUCKING POWERBUS sort, which again, I'm not. Self-meta, blah blah blah, whatever, you can go look it up yourself.

Hell, I didn't even powerbus projectmatt in Red Dead Redemption when he scumlurked all game. I didn't bus anyone in Gay Mafia--- and in fact, counterclaimed two masons to save my own scumbuddy. And I didn't bus anyone in Mole Mafia, despite being saddled with fucking lurkaderps vezok and Edgowa. None of this proves anything, but bussing only makes sense to a point anyway--- take a fucking step back and stop trying to see all hostility and aggressiveness as "bussing." Because you're fucking stupid if you do.

Kuribo, the fact that you don't get this makes me very confused.... ONLY SCUM AND YOU (possibly overlapped) KNOW YOUR ALIGNMENT. THE REST OF US HAVE TO CONSIDER THE POSSIBILITY. Given that, just repeating "it's not possible" over and over can never (nor should it) help us analyze the situation. If you are town, you should know that and be willing to help town reach correct conclusions.

You know what? I've never replaced out of a game before. Not once.

But let the baby have his bottle. Then lynch him because he's fucking scum.

Sorry Amrun and MoS, I really am trying to rein in the hate, but look what I'm arguing against here, FFS.

@Mod: At the request of my fellow players, I wish to be replaced. I don't want to put the mods or town in bad positions just because I'm irritated.

No, because once he asked for me to be booted or threatened to replace, he made it an issue that the mods have to pass judgement on.

I happen to like the mod and backup mod, so I'm not forcing them to make that call.

In Quack mafia, as I said (because as I also said I've played it before), you're supposed to cross-protect, figure out your sanities as quickly as possible, and then figure out who had to be lying.

Odds / Evens.

For example, if you did Odds / Evens with the list that's in the role assignments doc, then on N1, 1 and 2 cross protect, 3 and 4 cross, etc etc

So N1:

Kublai and Paranoid daycop survive (Kublai roleblocks Paranoid)
drshotgun and maruchan survive (shotgun roleblocks maru)
manho kills bunnylover
trojan kills mattP (1 scum down)
me and Zdenek both survive (Zdenek roleblocks me)
Wraith and Sean both survive (Sean protects Wraith)
myko and mneme both survive unless NK'd (both naive)
mafia-n00b and kdowns survive
BK201 kills Nobody Special

Day 2, Wraith would have been last scum standing

AND THAT'S WHY YOU FUCKING CROSS PROTECT IN QUACK MAFIA

I haven't run the numbers, but that's how I probably would have tried to set it up. I'm not sure I would have directly paired off 1 on 1 (too many N1 deaths from town roles that way), but maybe groups of 4 with pairs of two targeting the same person. That might have helped narrow things down.

The funny thing is, people keep saying, "Oh, it only works if everyone does it."

The thing to remember about breaking strategies is that scum have more to fear from them than anyone else.
