so since I am mod confirmed and no1 is really gonna read my posts cos they know my alignment I am going to tell a story.

on the commune we have a game we play called

ladies and gentlemen

which is a strategy building game where the husbands control all the money but have to buy their wives an outfit that helps them to look the most fabulous and win the ball/game. no really this is a game that we actually play and it is pretty funny with all of the shit talking involved. I always try to be the husband cos it involves the least amount of strategy and thinking powers I just have to have a quick hand at gaining resources and stacking enough money to buy what my wife wants. quadzypants and I didn't too well, reck and I won it, nacho and I came into second place and I told him it was forgivable. we ghettoed the shit out of that game. the first round we played sub-optimally but even if we played our best we wldn't have beaten nuwen and singer who were awsum and in tune. we still wld have lost by 1 point so that is why it is a forgivable second place.

I love this game design.

tl;dr - I am just interested in who is gonna make me look pretty. cos yaye! I get to be a lady.

I focused on how they sound because you keep questioning me on them. It's understandable to think a bit more about it when people are calling me scum for it, is it not?

If you're actually scum, yes. I think so. I mean there's bound to be some nervousness as town if people are scumreading you but this just looks to me like you're trying to change the way you post in order to not be scumread anymore, which is weird to me, because it shouldn't matter THAT much as long as you're actually scum hunting, since scumhunting has the habit of vindicating town.

I'd love to scumhunt, but at the moment, most are making rather fluff posts. The only real posts I've seen are a few posts accusing others of being scum, which could really mean anything. So, yeah, scumhunting would be nice, but I don't have any actual information to do that with.

I think there is a lot of info to work with here. what parts are you struggling with?

andy i'm just not as emotionally invested in the game as i'd like to be

like i'm pretty sure my reads are on point now but the game moves so slow it's hard to get attached

Games tend to move slow unless the players engage with them.

And I get the unattachment/

I think 1 of the reasons for the apathy is that 2 players opted to leave the dance and so we have no info to go on based on that rather than say, we had a lynch go through. you can't look at the pple who pushed them necessarily cos scumhunting is scumhunting and it was cut off precipitously. so town is sort of in this spot where if we push some1 OMG THEY MIGHT BE TOWN AND LEAVE THE DANCE or we sit around and do nothing which with zero lynch info is an appealing option.

I may be projecting here but that is what I am feeling.

They join what looks like fun mechanic, go crazy in FIND A PARTNER MODE and then disappear. farside said it above - join game and then do nothing.

That and the sheer apathy are two great things that gnaw at me every time I work on designing a mafia game here.
And it destroys games.
Antihero was MIA. Who was MIA. ika was MIA. Marquis and notscience were MIA. That's half the playerlist! Gaiden was MIA, Kagami was of little impact. ETL only really got involved when someone flipped the table on her.

This is why playing games, let alone putting hours into designing/modding a game is so frustrating.

And we can't even assume bad players are scum! That people who don't post are scum! Because this has become such an engrained part of the meta where its acceptable!
