I don't think I have seen this game type ever play out where couples didn't just choose themselves.

I have seen games where people say "don't pair with x" then someone pairs with x
Controlling pairs seems obnoxious play and unlikely to work.

Ok but.... if we do scorched earth, the kill happens IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE PRE-DANCE.

Which minimizes any Wifom effects of a kill/nokill scenario.

It also minimizes any benefit from scorching earth as far as associations too though.

The kill has less power, a no kill probably would be more powerful at that point since we have less info to work with.

So that annoys me but like I am not going to go out of my way to change people's opinions by playing how they want. That makes me unhappy.

If I have to choose taking the game super serious game where I am out to only win or light hearted game where goal is fun.
I am going to pick second every time now.

I've gone out of my way in many games to take it seriously at the request of other players, and what happens is I get annoyed/frustrated and the game is no fun.
