Yes, there is a reason.

There are the core party in the game, the Phantom Thieves, who all are friends with the protagonist (aka Akira) and know his secret. Those character names are Ryuji, Ann, Morgana, Yusuke, Makoto, Futaba, Haru, and Akechi. Akechi turns out to be a traitor/psychopath, so it wouldn't surprise me if there's an SK or scum out there who knows Akira's identity.

If you want to engage with the game and need to work with someone to do that, then that's fine. If you actually read my response to the fake gladiate, and you follow the logic of it, you should end up with us as your 2nd strongest townread, behind the now multiple confirmed Dave as protagonist.

Like ... I threw up a flag for him to collect us and nobody caught it until I pointed it out after he was outed. There's literally no world where I am on a scum slot and do that, because the freaking role PM is right there. He would get an arcana for visiting me (he gets the arcanas from scum fake claims), PLUS he would get a cop guilty on me AND get an unstoppable vig to kill me. That would be literally playing against win con. So we live in one of two worlds:

1.) I committed suicide with my first content post of the game (which followed me just confirming I was playing) by throwing up a crumb for Dave to collect me, which inevitably results in my death.

2.) We're as conftown as we could be short of being able to pop IC and have the mod say so.

I didn't finish the game but didn't Akira get nabbed by the cops at the beginning? I remember the premise being that one of his crew may have ratted him out. So...maybe mafia already know who Akira is and the deathproofiness is put there to stop them from outright killing this player. If this is the case then mafia basically just keep tabs on him. They'll probably also watch out for any crumbs Akira tries to make so maybe Morgana should do the crumbling/clearing

Again, I didn't finish the game, but it seems like one of the phantom thieves could be a mafia traitor as well

Having played with Kise several times before both IRL and on MS, I actually kinda read his behavior here as scummy? The "I AM SO HYPED RIGHT NOW" posts feel extreeemely forced, like there's nothing genuine behind it and he's having to make himself seem like townKise.

I think I would vote for chesskid today as well. Plenty of little small pings here and there that could just be playstyle-related and not alignment indicative but I don't have the brainpower to really figure out which it is. I realize this sounds fence-sitty, and it is, because I am fucking paralyzed by D1s. Especially in a game this size.

Also, let's not forget that while people like Mulch and RN and Nurple and Creature etc all post a shitload, there are plenty of people here lurking around the edges and not engaging. It's highly probable IMO that a contingent of scum are standing on the outskirts D1 letting everyone spamfight their way into a mislynch while they avoid detection. It is important to note that in the game, the main character starts with The Fool Arcana. However, here he starts with The World (I'm presuming this is because this is the only Arcana not associated with a social link and is only represented by the main character in the game). The Fool is actually a social link given to the main character by the main bad guy in the game, also known as The Holy Grail, and I'm assuming there is a strong likelihood that Arcana is scum here.

so...if this was the case, massclaiming arcana would just break the game.

Based on earlier meta analysis of mastina (xReckonerx, keyenpeydee, or chesskid3 is group scum)
 Based on chesskid’s reaction to the FoS from Not Chara, and Not Chara’s sudden and obvious flip on chesskid3, the pair being group scum together is unlikely.
 Based on how the keyenpeydee wagon started up and keyenpeydee’s replace out, it’s unlikely that this slot is group scum or scum of any kind.
 This leaves xReckonerx and unassigned in the bottom three. This leaves two possibilities.
 xReckonerx is town meaning mastina is 0-3 in bottom scumreads. This is neigh on never heard of with a player as good as Mastina. (Burden of Proficiency)
 xReckonerx is group scum, which then follows mastina’s scum meta of putting at least one scum in the bottom three. She generally wants a good position to be set for later on in the game as scum. Having 0 scum in those reads would look really bad.

Conclusion – By Mastina meta xReckonerX is scum, by votes xReckonerX is scum (even though he’s helping me vote Mastina, but by post and emotion he feels genuine, downread to a scum lean for me and mastina may have changed her scum meta or increased it to the size of the scum team.

Kamoshida- gym teacher antagonizing Ann (Lovers) and Ryuji (Chariot)
Madarame- fraud artist enslaving Yusuke (Emperor)
Kaneshiro- crime lord that Makoto (Priestess) is investigating
Wakaba Isshiki (the Sphinx)- Futaba's (hermit) mom
Okumura- evil CEO and father to Haru (Empress)
Sae Niijima- investigator trying to stop the Phantom Theives and sister to Makoto **note: Sae winds up changing sides and helping the PTs later, possible non-scum role
Shido- corrupt politician who setup the false evidence that screwed the Protagonist/Akira in the first place; Akechi's father
Igor, aka The Holy Grail- in actuality is the god Yaldabaoth and the real final boss of the game

Akechi (Justice)- starts out as a cop trying to track down the PTs, joins the PTs temporarily, then betrays them in the end as he is actually working for Shido the big bad...but in actuality Shido is his father and he hates him so he's trying to kill him? It's pretty convoluted.

Without reading too much into flavor and outguessing the mod, it wouldn't surprise me if certain villains/scum have special conditions related to whether their PT counterparts are alive and in the game. I'm pretty damn convinced, though, that Akechi is a third party, and it would SHOCK me if he wasn't some kind of serial killer since his entire thing in the game is he goes around killing people in the Metaverse which causes them to die in the real world.

There are plenty of minibosses that are sorta like sidequest bosses, I dunno that any of them are important enough to feature in the game. Then there are like random teachers and students but they're not big characters.

If you want to engage with the game and need to work with someone to do that, then that's fine. If you actually read my response to the fake gladiate, and you follow the logic of it, you should end up with us as your 2nd strongest townread, behind the now multiple confirmed Dave as protagonist.

Like ... I threw up a flag for him to collect us and nobody caught it until I pointed it out after he was outed. There's literally no world where I am on a scum slot and do that, because the freaking role PM is right there. He would get an arcana for visiting me (he gets the arcanas from scum fake claims), PLUS he would get a cop guilty on me AND get an unstoppable vig to kill me. That would be literally playing against win con. So we live in one of two worlds:

1.) I committed suicide with my first content post of the game (which followed me just confirming I was playing) by throwing up a crumb for Dave to collect me, which inevitably results in my death.

2.) We're as conftown as we could be short of being able to pop IC and have the mod say so.

Also, one of the scum had a "psuedo town role" of public day caller (where they can make an anonymous speech to the town during the day or something), which 99% is town but isn't technically explicitly an only town role. So you can expect some scum to have "semi confirmable" roles
