It sounds more that you mistrust Varsoon's reasoning here than you are trying to guide DV to an conclusion.

What are your feelings on him?
On who? I read this initially as "feelings on Varsoon" but I'm not sure that's what you mean.

Re Varsoon, my feelings are mixed. He went after chesskid pretty hard, which was a quixotic thing to do IMO given the chances of getting that lynch yesterday. He also kinda the Day 1 consensus scumpile, of which he's been a part, as lynchbait. His arguments are contrarian, but they aren't totally crazytrain.

I can see both those lines of thought coming from different alignments. :/

Yesterday I thought he was less likely to be scum than Desp and Deas, but more likely than most of the player list. Kinda still at that point, but seeing more town in his posts.

Patricia MorrisPatricia Morris was a writer, a rare thing in this era, especially for a woman. She stayed because this is her home, because she didn't want to be anywhere else, and most of all because she was curious about what is going on and wanedt to be a witness to all that happens and document it for history, if she lived through it.

She was fascinated by the situation and intended to write about it in two different ways.

First, she was going to document the factual happenings of the next several months (again, as long as she was able to stay alive), and will even take minutes during the meetings. This way if no one was alive after it's all over, there would at least still be an account of what happened for all to read.

She couldn't help but be extremely curious about what killed Jamie Miller and she wanted to know all the details involved, no matter how gruesome it was. She felt her loss and cared for her very much, but the curiosity of it all overwhelmed all her other senses and emotions most of the time. What happened?! She must know! She would do anything she could to find out anything about what is going on, even if that means putting her life in danger.

Second, she was going to write a bunch of fictional fantastical events that using the events on of the next several months as a basis (again, if she stayed alive.) The moment she heard about Jamie Miller being massacred into almost nothingness her imagination took hold and was running wild ever since. She had had a dozen different ideas about what most certainly didn't happen to Jamie, and she wrote down some starter ideas for stories and looked forward to coming up with more and elaborating and refining what she'd already started as the months went on.

She was the youngest person who stayed behind, at 19, and while that is not so super-young (for this time period, it's pretty mature), she was still not as experienced or as grown-up as the rest of the people have stayed. You all ranged from proud to surprised to confused about her staying. She would have loved to hear what every single one of you knows or thinks about the situation. She hoped she don't come off as a nuisance to any of you at any point. She certainly wanted to try to be helpful and contribute where she could.

She knew you all to be wonderful and caring people and was you were all glad to hear and have her input and insight at any time, she knew you'd make her feel welcomed and well-received at the meetings. This is a special place, and you all were like her family. Her parents and older brother all left to stay in Benton, but they could not convince her to go no matter how much they begged, demanded, pleaded, or prayed that she would. She was a strong-willed young woman.

She could do a bit of everything there is to do around here, too, and had been found to be a very helpful hand and contributor to the community because of her ability to quickly pick up on whatever she was shown how to do and being generally a bit smarter than most. She could farm, and had a little plot of crops of her own, but also spend a lot of time helping others with their bigger farms and animals
(which you don't keep any of yourself.) You can handle all kinds of animals with knowledge, you are a decent hunter, and she could even cook and sew decently well
. She liked to play the guitar and mandolin, and could also play the fiddle a bit if it stuck her (she has one of each of these instruments.)

Wherever she was helping on any given day in the village, was was contributing something worthwhile and was appreciated by all. She lovde to get all the experiences should could, for the experiences themselves, certainly, but also because it helps with her writing.

She cared about this place and herfellow villgers and really felt like this was her home and she couldn't imagine leaving it and all of you here to some unknown fate. She was hoping to help figure out what is going on and resolve the situation, she was certainly doing whatever she could.

She couldn't resist the urge to go snooping around during these times to try and figure out what she could. At Night she MUST have selected one of you to try and snoop in on you, she just couldn't help it.
Okay so I'm pretty sure that this is a copy-paste of TPFKAP's role PM. Pay attention to the bolded: it uses "you" language, whereas the rest of the description uses "she" language. Knowing that my own role PM uses "you" language, I'm pretty sure this is the flavor description of her, similar to the flavor description of my role.

I'm not quite sure I'm describing this well enough. I basically know from my own role PM that this is TPFKAP's role PM, verbatim, simply with the perspective shifted from second (you) to third (she). The snoop does sound investigative in nature and the role PM does loosely indicate hider/weak as potentials, though I'd need to dig through the iso and read the diary journal to be sure.
I thought this too. Which means the werewolf flip narratives are also very close to their role PMs, with some key things left out, obviously. And those narratives don't shout werewolf.

At all.

If two of them hadn't looked objectively scummy to me I'd be wondering (much more loudly) what the hell kind of game this is.

As I expected, I didn't get an answer to the question I was trying to ask.

However, I did learn that we probably could have figured out what circumstances triggered/allowed the day 1 lynch to go through.

We might want to work on that.

Ugh.

I'm too short on sleep to deal with this game right now.

Sussing out mechanics clues is not one of my mafia strengths but I'll give it a try re what triggered Evening and the lynch eventually going through on day 1.

Cabd given the kill, how do you feel about peng's post last night recommending both mastina and deas do what their town instincts tell them with their actions? Am I full of shit for townreading that?

Majority vote apparently means nothing. My head hurts too much to try to figure it out right now but we really need to know how we get a lynch. Thrashing around until it eventually happens takes a lot of control out of town's hands.

And DV and Varsoon both claimed either abilities or flavor that if I were scum/3p I'd seriously consider leaving out of my claim.

I can see Varsoon going ahead and claiming the ninja out of concern he was tracked, though, regardless of alignment.

Elli - claimed 3p who found out they have a kill on N1
Deas - claimed town who found out they have a daykill at the start of Day 2

I want to believe that all three of these are true regarding at least when they knew/learned they had a night kill.

But, more importantly, I feel like deas' play on day 2 fits what he says about his role. And his play on day 1 wasn't as survivalist as I'd expect if he was groupscum with a day 2 daykill under a ton of suspicion on day 1.

I'm still feverish so if this looks like crap reasoning please tell me.

Ok, so!

I might be a doctor. I might be a fruit vendor. It's hard to say, but I am pretty sure I'm a doctor.

So, I'm going to target one (or more!) of my townreads, or maybe myself. If you wake up with a pineapple or something, you'll know it was me. But, since my night 1 targets didn't say anything about receiving strange gifts in the night, I'm pretty sure I really am a doctor.

So, if you're planning to kill someone tonight, you probably should target someplace else besides {Cabd, Mastina, Ghostlin, Cephrir} And maybe me. You never know, I might decide to be an asshole and protect myself.

Sorry Elli, I'm going to assume that Mastina has you covered.

Or maybe this is all bullshit and I'm a common villager. I've been practicing gambits in front of a mirror all week and I've been taking lessons from Cabd since 2013 (I'm a slow learner, ok?) So yeah, this could be a gambit. But it's not. I'm a multi-target doctor and I'm going to protect ALL my best townreads.

Enough about me!

I was going to vote Varsoon in this post but his aggro was so over the top it reminded me of Advance Wars. I wish he'd been around while we could actually talk but such was not to be.

So much for the afternoon ending when every vote is down :/ Maybe groupscum intentionally cut the day short because the momentum was shifting?

I'm not going to vote just yet. I don't like being rushed and this game day has pissed me off.

And I'd like to read what Cabd has to say before I vote.

Clearly they believed you. Or ARE you. Or both.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post a link to an in-thread search, so I'll just suggest that you search this thread for "rocks".

It's interesting. Especially Peng's post, the memory of which prompted me to do the search.

I don't know if it's useful.

i was under the impression early townreads on me were failing because i'd stopped doing things. i couldn't point to who specifically, no.
I kinda did, yeah, though I can see scum-deas coming back to the game, discovering he'd put a kill in on someone who'd since claimed a pretty useful town PR and thinking his lynch was inevitable.

Town

Cabd
Mastina (claims day/night bodyguard)
Cephrir

ProbTown

Chara

Maybe Town

Ginngie
Deas - Claims town with a day 2 daykill (killed Vecna)

Others

Ellibereth (claims survivor, claims a night action, but he's not sure what it does)
Peng (claims survivor, has a kill, knew about it from the start, claims not to have used it)
Varsoon (claims survivor, had day and night kill n1, ninja, tracker)

Dead

TFPKAP - Town Snoop (maybe hider, maybe hid behind Varsoon, had a semi-fictional PT)
Vecna - Joat of some sort?
Hebichan - no known abilities
Ghostlin - rock vendor

The game isn't over, so obviously someone has a wincon that isn't town-like or survivor-like.

Ceph if I'm wrong about you I'm going to be so unhappy. :/

fferyllt (yeah I know, I never list myself, but I'm putting my claim here: Town prob-doctor. I know I actually visited my target(s) on N1 because I got a flavorish PM at the end of the night phase saying that I checked around my target(s) place(s) but <didn't find that they needed my help>. I didn't even notice that I didn't get a flavorish-PM at the end of N2 until Mastina mntioned not getting one.)

Maybe one of the players who died enabled semi-gratuitous night-flavor?

One of the reasons why I was suspicious of Mastina was because of our role-overlap. The number of ways a person can die and the number of people dying in Maplewood (esp N1) eventually convinced me both our roles could exist.

Chara's gotten more assertive as the game has progressed. That's the main thing of note to me in their play. I felt like there was a crescendo of townreads of them. First just a few and then more and more as day 1 progressed.

Ginngie is Layla. It bothered me tremendously that I wasn't seeing town in Layla's play from the start of the game, but it was eventually there. Ginngie is not playing anything like the other game she replaced into (she was scum). I dunno. Maybe she belongs in the Chara grouping.

How do you feel about deas?

I'm giving this about 24 hours for ducks to line up in rows. I'm worried that basically goofing around when we don't know what causes the pace of the different phases to vary so widely is asking for another lynchless game day.

Anyway, I kinda didn't want to post my baby wall until Ceph had a chance to come back and react some more in alignment indicative ways. And I don't actually want to post it at all so it's burning a hole in my drafts. He's always been a chameleon as scum, adapting instantly to scumreads/comments about his scumplay/townplay and I kinda hate to tell him what I looked for in this game, what I missed, and why I'm thinking about voting him.

If Ceph is town, then this game is miles away from being solved. :/

I really enjoyed your roleplay! Worst thing about your dying that it ended most of the roleplay.

Spoiler:
I was right about Nayla and Cabd!

I was really, really wrong about Ceph, but at least I did finally realize it.
