The Hider has the ability to target one player each night. It is a Weak role and as such will die if it targets mafia. In case the hider targets a town-alligned player, he or she will be untargetable for all other roles. However, that does not mean the hider is entirely safe: should the person he or she is hiding behind get shot, the hider will be shot as well. This only goes for a nightkill.

Fun but tough? Still stressful but I think its the good type unlike the emotional type I had in college lul.

Friend and I cofounded a startup less than an year ago and we're still trying to get all the tech together and working so a lot of longs nights. Needed to learn a lot of things I knew 0 about going in etc.

I'm glad the hospital stuff is fun for you. I have a friend who's reapplying for med schools and he's stressed out of his mind. Another one is in Taiwan in their med program there and is on call in a hospital and stressed out of her mind.

Sigh. Both of these. I took an action last night. Given the result I have good reason to think that claiming the specifics would be detrimental to the game, but I can promise that I didn't kill or target anyone who died last night. I am capable of killing. I doubt I will in this game unless there's a 1 v 1 that has sent us into night having mislynched the town side of it. We need all the voting info we can get.

And I answered 'I don't know' because my role PM doesn't imply that I can win in some kind of HEA situation--at least one other player has to meet their wincon for me to win. It doesn't restrict itself to town or wolves or other, regardless of whether I kill.

I'm not sure that trying to lynch Varsoon is a useful play here. If he is another survivor (and I have reason to doubt that, see further along), him opting to kill and going after wolves doesn't make him anti-town--I have no indication in my role PM that choosing to kill keeps me from winning with the town in the end. It just means he had confident reads.

I also worry that this will become an easy out for claims under pressure, since the number of possible survivors is unknown. Although, more aboveboard set-up consideration can now be done:

We have at least 4 wolves (as evidenced by three flipped without town [and we know there's regular town] winning) and I suspect that with at least two known Survivors who are capable of killing (I'm not counting Varsoon, as we don't know what's going on there for sure) we don't have a SK-type who's in it for themselves as last man standing. The mod indicated in the post-game of the Gold Mini Theme that he would have run that as 10-11:4. Generally adding in 'loose cannons' with a third party role capable of killing is going to make the game harder for scum. However, with two known roles of that type, I think anything more than five wolves gets pretty hairy (ha): 9:6:1:1 means town can very easily lose before getting to the second day. There's swingy and then there's WTFish. As Cabd said, this may be an odd Mafia game, but I don't think we have a choice but to assume it is still Mafia in some fashion.

So assume max five werewolves is 10:5:1:1. Even this lets town lose super-quickly, although it's not outside the realm of 'very swingy.' I do tend to think Varsoon is town and not 3p because Ellibereth and I both have the option of killing. But at least based on my role, that option is reasonably limited and doesn't allow for rapid-fire kills. It also doesn't make sense for a survivor to shoot from the hip so quickly when waiting to see how things played out would be more sensible play.

The other option becomes 11:4:1:1, which might make sense with the mod thinking 11:4 was a good way to go and then rounding it out with survivors who can kill to increase the swing factor.

I'm also assuming no other survivors for now in the above. We'll see how that plays out.

To clarify my own play, I came into this game planning to try to win with the town. Overall easier to be genuine for two weeks versus two days, especially with a player list that has some familiarity with me. The early kill on Almost50 only solidified that for me, as it indicated town had started pushing the swing first and were more likely to snowball.

I do think any other survivors should go ahead and claim today regardless of whether they've killed. Yes, it narrows the pool for wolves to kill players who are actively in opposition to them, but I doubt we have more than one more survivor max, and it's in town's best interest not to have the waters muddied down the line. Which, any survivor playing for a 'win with wolves' wincon at this point is smoking something fantastic and I want some of it.

And in answer to Ghostlin's question, no, I don't have any good scum reads right now. I was pretty inaccurate with Desperado and likely mastina, and I sure wasn't actively scumreading chesskid3. I suspect the mechanic and advertised swinginess of the game might mean that anyone who hits a majority in the VC before evening ends gets lynched, which would mean DeasVail is a dead man walking, so reading there is pointless. I don't want to lynch in {mastina, Varsoon, Ellibereth, Cabd, Ghostlin, ffery} today for sure. That leaves Cephrir, Chara, Ginngie. If it weren't for mastina's soul read or whatever on Ginngie I'd be pushing there, but I do put less faith in that given the Vecna result and knowing she was misreading me. Chara has a small pile of reason to town read and a lot of that is other people's reads. Cephrir, I don't have any reason to scum read at present, and I don't know if his back-and-forth with Desperado was really likely scum theater.

Side note: in terms of lynching mechanics, I wonder if we only go to evening when everyone has their vote placed. So no one not voting.

The Lone Wolf was designed to never have to claim anything but villager, and are told as much. Ellibereth's play really baffled me but I don't want to get into it much. What I will say is that if you signup for a game and roll a role you really dislike, you should probably replace out!

Light comments on this - you said it was designed to be able to do whatever I wanted within my restrictions. Claiming survivor is within that. And I obviously thought what I did was the best chance I had for winning. If you're curious why that's the case I can go into it later when I have more time but the way the game roughly played out speaks for what I wanted.

To the second point, I'm pretty sure replacing out on a role you dislike is against site rules. I'm not going to replace out immediately everytime I get 3rd party. I'm still going to try and do well. Which is what I did. You can disagree with how I approached the game but just because it didn't fit with your vision of the role and you were confused by what I was trying to do doesn't mean it was horrible.

OH, also with this, if the Lone Wolf says yes to tell about his lycanthropy to the Wood Spirit, she can offer to CURE him of it, which unlocks a hidden wincondition and makes the Lone Wolf achieve the win and leave the game (he leaves the village to go to Benton to await word from the villagers that it is safe to return to Maplewood.)

Town Elli gets shot a lot because he's good.
Lurksack Elli might gets lynche because he's not being townelli and I have less control on how long the game takes to ends.
Oh maybe I can get protected by mastina? And try to end the game as soon as possible?
What about claiming third party that had extra game ending info!

And then the rest was just trusting my reads.
(Plan was obviously lynch Varsoon into lynch Ceph - I actually though Varsoon might have an SK wincon and I also did think his flip would give me insight on my role.)
Which with the noticeable exception of chesskid were really on point.
