The only problem i see is that if in anticipation of a plan like this, mith put all the mafia in alphabetically order next to each other. WHile its highly, highly, highly unlikely, it is a nagging at me.

This is again an assumption, I strongly believe mith would not distribute the roles in any way other than random. This doesn't prevent what you're mentioning from happening, but it does make it very unlikely. But then again, then plan wasn't foolproof to begin with.

Keep in mind that this is mafia, not a puzzle. But that's ok. Carry on.

Sorry, I hadn't realized the game had begun. I'm all for mathcam's plan, but first....

Mod, can you tell us if vig kills will be counted as simultaneous, or if they will be carried out in the order received?

Can't it be both? Or perhaps more to the point, isn't it automatically both?

Let's. I want a checklist though, and I want EVERYONE to come in here and post that they will carry out the plan and who they will shoot so that no one screws up. T_T

Overnight, I will shoot Cubsfan4life, and I think that No one should traget ,me ( that I should be the person whop would be targeted by ZONEACE.)

I dunno if I like this idea. It has the potential to turn into a mountainous endgame tomorrow with no information from bygone days.

Is this really the best way for the town to play this? I have my doubts.

I totally understand having your doubts, but I also think we'd be hard-pressed to find a better strategy.

To Re-Cap:

1) There's a pretty good chance that there are not 2 mafia next to each other, and if this is the case, the town automatically wins.
2) Even if there
are
2 mafia next to each other, which is mostly the worst-case scenario, we have a pretty good chance of winning.
3) I disagree that we have no information from today. I feel like I could right now make some relatively educated guesses about potential scum targets.

PBuG, you would be killing PeaceBringer tonight, and NanookTheWolf will be killing you (assuming you're both pro-town).

I'd like a day or two to mull over it, if people aren't in too much of a hurry.

It sounds like a good plan to me, but it has a
lot
of potential to go wrong, as well. We shouldn't jump the gun on this. I think we should think this out for a few more days.

Zoneace, that's what people have been saying.

PBug, I will personally see to it that no one will self nominate themselves to survive.

Are we decided on random targets or people below us? Because that's the first thing we should decide.

a) Absolutely no hurry,
plus
the longer we wait it out, the more time scum has to say something silly in case it gets mountainous at the end.

b) Killing randomly is a horrible strategy, I think. We
have
to do it in a predetermined order, which brings to me my next point...

c) Before it gets too far, I should point out that there is a clearly superior strategy to the one I'm suggesting. The point is that there's nothing special about doing it alphabetically...it just has to be done in a predetermined list order. It would probably be slightly sub-optimal to do it alphabetically now, because the mafia already has had time to accept or reject it. It could be that the lack of opposition we're seeing to this plan is because the mafia knows there's 2 in a row alphabetically, and so welcome the plan as it stands currently. Instead, once we decide that we're going to go with this plan, we should have ZONEACE choose an ordering of the players at random and we should then follow that ordering of killing tonight instead of the alphabetical ordering.

The list could be made at random, but we'd have to verify that it was random...whoever "randomly" created the list might have been mafia and created the list so that all the mafia were next to each other. So we could all agree to somehow create a list based on tomorrow's stock market prices or something, but a much simpler way is to have our confirmed innocent (you, ZONEACE) randomly make one up.

It's important not to make the list until after we've decided to do this plan, so don't make it (or at least, don't post it).

Vote: Yes

The only way we could get tricked this way, is if zoneace is not innocent... but I rather doubt that... VOTE YES

I have no problem with ZONEACE making thé list. I also vote yes.

I very would have liked figuring out the mafia and kill some scum at night, though. But like mathcam said this game is a puzzle and the goal is to solve before the others on the GL have solved it. I was worried that mith had anticipated this and put three mafia next to each other on the opening list, but (like I said) if ZONEACE is making the list I have no problems with the plan.
Has your mafiagame lasted for only a few days or maybe it dragged on and on and on? Check the Records page on the wiki to see if it is a record!

I also Vote: Yes, I like the idea of ZONEACE creating the list as well. We'll need to make sure everybody is willing to go through with this of course.
