I shouldn't have said anything. TW might have shot tb and we might have had a chance if TB had killed TW

votecount 7.023 players voting for light_ganski (Nancy Drew 39, the worst, Enter)

5 players not voting (Nancy Drew 39, TheBrie)

with 5 votes, it takes 3 to lynch.

Echo Bay, Maryland
the city square

snow flutters through the air -- the first snow of winter. for just one night, everything seems bright and cheerful and alive. everyone forgets that this has been a year marked by death and suffering. this is a day when nothing can go wrong.

that is when the gunmen enter the scene. it's not that people were wrong to have hope; it was just wrong of them to believe that hope could last.

shots are fired. bodies fall to the ground. they're so brazen about it now; they don't even bother hiding their faces. Dorothy sits on a nearby park bench, barely looking up from her newspaper. there are still dozens of people here, so practically speaking, the woman not making any commotion is unlikely to even be noticed, but even if things do go wrong, she's no longer afraid to die.

she wonders if her other self is afraid to die. they haven't talked since that night her son died. it's not that she's not interested in the goings on of her genetically identical progenitor -- who wouldn't be interested to know that sort of thing? -- it's just that she's been so busy with other preparations. she's realized what she has to do. this mission is more important than her.

police quickly arrive on the scene. one of them is shot, but they convince the gunmen to put down their weapons. they're taken into custody, and the brutality ends. but they've won, right? they've convinced the people that they are unable to protect themselves. the powers that be will inevitably prevent the people from actually representing their own best interests. they're talking of holding a special election next month to choose a new mayor. that won't solve anything.

"this is the plan: on December 18th, the 1-year anniversary of Markus Wilson, Sr.'s death, we begin inducting people into the first sequence. two at a time, in a random order, over the course of two weeks, for a total of 28 people. things will actually start on January 1st. I don't anticipate it taking that long for the dust to settle after that."

"there's a twist here, though, right? there's something you haven't revealed. so tell me, Dorothy."

"I will be part of the first sequence. I am one of the 28."

there's a silence for several moments. finally, voice from the computer responds.

"so you're prepared to die for this cause, then."

"I am. I have a contingency in place so that I can continue the sequences if I die, but yes, Roderick. I will be putting my life on the line. how can I possibly hope the ideology for which I stand triumphs if I'm not willing to do this?"

"so what are we doing for the next two weeks, then?"

"we're waiting for a package to arrive. have you heard of a company called Future Core Neural Designs?"

"I can't say that I have."

"well, 23 years and a few months from now, they're hopefully going to finish work on a very important project. at some point in time, Emma will take partial control of the company. she'll think this means she's won, but... we'll just have to wait and see how things take shape."

"all in favor say aye."

all eight of them respond with "aye."

with that, the city council of Echo Bay has formed. technically, Echo Bay already had a city council, but this new one will operate in the shadows. they will control the elections and will wield all the power.

all eight of them will be part of sequence one. this is by design.

light_ganski has died, and was a vanilla townie.

TheBrie, informed non-consecutive night bulletproof day 3 vigilante serial killer, has been endgamed.

Nancy Drew 39, town neighbor, has been endgamed.

the mafia (Enter, singletonking, Dannflor, Purrcocet, and the worst) and the jester, Ausuka, have won.

Nancy take this lesson to be less stubborn in your meta reads. Both sheep and hebi were scum.

this isnt me blaming you, i was townreading them as well. But be less stubborn and consider the setup too. You opened today ignoring there is a scum rb.

me, eight months ago, in a different game:
In post 2011, xyzzy wrote:also you can expect "Future Core Neural Designs Mafia" to come to a mini theme queue near you sometime, uh, in the future! it will continue the ongoing story that this game is part of, so if you enjoyed my extensive lore, there will probably be some of that there. you probably noticed some SHOCKING REVELATIONS throughout day 3 and the end of the game if you were following the lore for this game, with multiple twists and shocking surprises

I will release private topics soon! it's a lot of work though so gimme a minute

btw for anyone who doesn't feel like reading the whole dead thread:
In post 21, xyzzy wrote:something I've been thinking about is how there's a lot of posts in this game that suggest that certain things might be true about the setup due to mod meta (like, sure, the fact that there are multiple third parties is very much something I've done before), but I feel like this will be the game that people point to in the future to try to establish my mod meta. like the premise of having an all-town neighborhood, 4 day-3 vigilantes, 2 roleblockers *and* 2 jailkeepers when the mafia can just always get kills through with an ascetic, a death miller, AND a jester in one setup where the central gimmick announced during signups wasn't even setup weirdness is the kind of thing where from now on nothing will be too weird to actually appear in a game I moderate. I'm basically poisoning the well w/r/t ever having anyone believe that I've made a simple, normal setup lmao

Wag: ha, dann, I knew enter helped you with that reads list

, nope, dann probably read a lot more of the game than I ever did. I certainly meant to, tho, so that counts for something?
