The setup seems balanced, there are dayplay reasons to explain why scum lost this time around. If I had to suggest a change I would ban shot reciprocity because I think the setup is more interesting without shot trading.

Letting scum know if their shots would hit would maybe stop this?
Like you can't say someone is shit scum for shooting you if they already know it's a blank.

That was my favorite idea to balance "i shot scum so I am town" and not forcing scum to risk offing a buddy to look town.

I think town won through day play though I do agree, but I think this mechanic helps day play a lot more then it should when the idea is just random shooting lol.

I thought it was fine as it was, basically a slightly spicier mountainous, scum were just trying to play it like a meme game and it ended up not being that. If they'd thrown their weight into voting umlaut D1 then maybe it would've added sufficient chaos to the game that they might have gone further.

Backfire seems unfun in practice, I don't think anyone even the most obvious town would holster to play around it.

I think the change to let scum see what is in the chamber would take away elements that make day play easier and a lot harder on scum "do I risk shooting my buddy or look like obvious scum".
Without changing the raw win % of this setup because I do believe it's balanced if everyone just acted randomly.

i don't feel like the mechanic needs any adjustments or supplimentary mechanics to help make it function, its fine as is.
it might seem townsided but i think the playerlist is more townsided then not.

ik first thing i told kanna is i didn't want to rand scum unless we had actual partners that wanted to play the alignment, otherwise it was gonna be hell

I think "I shot scum so I'm town" is already balanced, there is some WIFOM to it.
I don't think it's a problem for a universal mechanic to help the town, not all mechanics need to be neutral in how they impact the factions.

I'm not that opposed to the idea of scum seeing their shot results in advance. I would keep it at 15% same as the townies so that there's not a probability metagame around that.

i mean i wasnt entirely approaching this as a meme game! though i just feel a little burned out with mafia in general rn.

would have tried but porkens was absent and by the later parts of D1, i had so little towncred i figured swapping would really hurt me once norway flipped (and inevitably he probablywould have d2)
