Yeah I know. I think what you're underestimating here is the concept of momentum in a game of mafia. The more players actively mentioning someone as suspicious and bringing them up (and back into the consciousness of the town) and listing them in scum pools the more other players who had them as null or null-scum will start to consider them. This builds a momentum to a elimination going forward because part of what people will think of when they think of that player is "oh, that's the guy who like 4 people mentioned as being scummy."

It's ok to mention people as potentially scummy or get into fights for distancing but when you do it over and over again you just increase the likelihood of that player actually being eliminated. This is correct sometimes but its a balancing act.

(I'll be releasing PTs sometime in the next few days, might do it in batches. Its only several million of them.)
Ok I will apply this moving forwards!

FWIW, the true utility of the scum-vig-shot was always going to be in the late game if it came up and I don't necessarily disagree with the choice to not use it early on.

Spectating the game was a ton of fun, and I'm perfectly happy with how it turned out. Did scum get stomped? Sure. But I think scum got stomped because of good synergy between the town players and the mutual recognition of towniness, not because of any flaw in the game itself.

Outside of the special mechanics, the game was:

Town RB
Town Gated Almost Motion Detector
All VTs are neighbors

V

4 Goons

The task victory was actually impossible if the Disruptor wasn't blocked or limmed, and scum had the potential to double kill and WIFOM it in the late game if town went for the task victory. The post restrictions were a giant distraction for town as well.

It is a valid complaint that this game supported landslide victories (scum was far likelier to win with a full team than any other way) but that's not really a balance issue and the task victory actually helped solve the sitting and waiting to lose problem that such games usually suffer from. Imagine if you'd had to wait four more days to actually eliminate Cakez and how much more frustrating that would have been for everyone.
This is a Parachute.

yeah was concerned about how long it would take cakez to get limmed then dead chat mentions we're almost at a task win and I'm like "wtf last I check we were only at 1/5 of the way there!" and relief washed over me

btw might as well preface this now
during n2 I barely posted in Weapons room chat because I had a guess that scum had the ability to eavesdrop rooms and I wanted to keep my supposed slip close to the vest

Yeah that was my bad as well - I thought I actually pushed back on this way harder for some reason but I guess I didn't. Idk I thought it was more obvious than it was I guess.
I definitely should have pushed back on that idk why I let myself get pushed into doing it.

I'm actually sorta embarrassed now.
I think I might have felt kind of oppressed considering how much pressure I was under? But you're definitely not wrong.

"oh hey Murdercat has decided to actually play the game."

You don't know when it will happen, but when it does I will probably find like half the scum and get hard pocketed by one and hopefully fix it on the last day.

Had to laugh reading that scum PT. Big focus on planning mislims for multiple days, but none actually happened. And a bit smug that I was considered the LHF for a mislim but ya never got me. #obvtown

+1

I love how I was your top townread for awhile but I was probably the first person to townread you, then changed to scumread, then changed to sorting pool, then changed to T/S PoE from an unclaimed result, and then flaked.

Much like
MC, BM, and even Titus
to a degree, you looked at my wild ass and still went with it.

And
Gamma/Mastina
soulread the clusterfuck that I was, correctly.

BM
, I'm sigging this btw

I thoroughly enjoyed these btw[/quote] (Speaking of which, Sykkuno is actually live at this second playing Among Us.)
I do think that, as far as posting restrictions go, non-sequiturs was perhaps the best possible one for me and making them was fun. :P
