Taking literally any card in the deck other than ascetic proves that ascetic isn't your role, you dingus. Barring the possibility that an ascetic fake-claims non-ascetic (lol), this is no different than taking alignment from any other one-off card in the deck.

You aren't making any sense, but probably aren't making any sense in a vaguely towny way.
