There was an important point tho, lynching scum D1 does seem to decrease town's chances of winning as it becomes mountainous which benefits scum.

a bit of analysis: mafia self-hammering day 1 definitely feels like a breaking strategy here; 1:6 mountainous technically has a lower EV for scum with completely random choices by a very thin margin, but since choices aren't random, it's probably worse for town.

Hard to win as scum if im scumread anyways when i can barely keep up with what ppl are doing and i was trying to figure out the best way possible to "catch scum" with the game mechanics and apparently that got me scumread for some reason

does anyone have any thoughts on the following amendment to the rules:

the day 1 lynch's alignment isn't revealed until day 2, and townies are able to submit lists night 1 that include the day 1 lynch.

it's definitely an interesting setup xyzzy. I agree that there needs to just be some kind of extra incentive to lynch scum d1 - the first thought i had was that if scum is lynched d1, then on n1 only, town can submit who they think the scumpartner is, and if at least two non-NKed townies submit the name of the scum then town win.

this seems to be a really good variant; I might run another iteration of this later on today if there's interest with this change.
