I'd also like to recommend "Bulworth" for the political comedy, "The Entity" for horror paranormal, "The Unbearable Lightness of Being" for sexysteamy romance drama, "Copland" for cops and robbers, "Do the Right Thing" for hood film, "The Velvet Goldmine" for film a clef, "Dolemite" for blaxploitation, and "The Warriors" for gangs

aye, I realized with your obvious exposure suggesting the better-knowns might not be as helpful, but if you hadn't seen them...

I agree, Majiffy, that it's not great, but I do think it's a must-see and there are some deeper elements to it that make it worth rewatching a few times, and I'll always support a morality tale / view one as a bit better movie than it otherwise would be without morality
