Seriously. Get a keychain or something to vent the novelty of your shiny new adventures. If one more thread turns into a Reck pride parade, I'mma smack a ho(mo).

Ether, what circumstances would keep your parents away from your home base? Are they planning a trip, or is that an open invitation to lure them away?

PS. This will probably be sometime around the weekend of August 14th. Don't expect to have a say in this. It just is.
Word. Let's talk about hosting/sleeping space:

- Would your parents be more comfortable if we contacted them? We don't have to be a gaggle of strangers (Plum, this applies to you too - would your parents be comfortable meeting/sending a chaperone?)
- How many people can be accommodated indoors? Is your backyard campable?
- Are there any blood offerings (or nice fruit baskets) we can send to expedite the process?

Meanwhile, Reck is most concerned about taking pretty pictures of himself

Cost logistics can be ironed out after this thing gets confirmed. Feeding a horde of people isn't difficult with a grill or fire pit, if you have one.

Also, Shea loves to don an apron and cook intricate dishes. Be sure to compliment his spice palate!

In NC. If Reck wants to make some easy cash, I'll buy a few packs (or even a carton) off him. Cigarette taxes in NY/NJ are the highest in the country. Definitely stock up before you come. In metro areas, a pack of Marbs/Camels can run up to ten bucks.

Or Ether's pregnant.

You shouldn't lie to your parents. If they choose to call the location or request to speak to a parent, you put Ether in an uncomfortable position as a host. Show them pictures/threads of past meets (BeachBam, Starkadium, Flaying Man).

Gamessssss.

I have:
Chess set (derp)
Othello/Go
Settlers of Catan
World of Warcraft: The board game (it was a gift...)
Scrabble (maybe, need to check tile count)

My game library is sparse, and I'd rather not lug anything onto the train/bus.

Essential games we should definitely have at the meet:
Settlers of Catan
Apple to Apples
Scrabble
Bang

Does anyone play euchre?

I'm probably the biggest drug worry. Nuwen's honor that I would never corrupt your precious little minds or dose the kool-aid.

2:24:59 PM Mercuriala: So maybe the thread isn't a good platform for this
2:25:25 PM Mercuriala: but it never fails to disturb me when people are like "will not tolerate drugs... OMG DRINKING CONTESTS TEEEHEE"
2:25:31 PM Mercuriala: Alcohol is a hell of a drug
2:25:53 PM Mercuriala: it's also a shitty drug.
2:25:59 PM Mercuriala: If it were scheduled, I wouldn't bother with it

and the culture around alcohol amuses me. YEAH WE'RE GONNA CHUCK BALLS AT CUPS TO DETERMINE OUR DRINKING PACE, AND THEN MATCH EACH OTHER SHOT FOR SHOT UNTIL WE'RE PASSED OUT ON THE LAWN WITH OUR PENISES OUT. BROFIVE.

You're just wrong. On pretty much every count.
Yeah, this is why I didn't want to bring this up in the meet thread. Acetaminophen, ethyl alcohol, caffeine, nicotine - all gnarly drugs that leave a footprint on your body. They're innocuous because they're mainstays of legal chemical culture.

If the DGBpool takes 87 towards NYC, they'll run right into Albany. If I can get from Rochester to Albany on my own, would the carpool be able to grab me (and Shea)?

If you've only got three open seats in the DGB mobile, I can go mass transit if DramCowShea are all /in. Greyhound/Amtrak from Rochester to Albany (carpool pickup) is only ~fifteen bucks cheaper than a full ride to NYC.

I'm arriving a few blocks from Penn Station at 11PM on the 12th, leaving from the same location at noon on the 18th.

How late does the NJ port authority terminal stay open? I dunno if a commuter line will be running at 11-midnight.

Too bad, you'll be welcome if your boss changes his mind. I haven't heard from Nuwen yet.
I'd love to sing along in the DGB carpool, but I discovered that it's
more
expensive for me to bus Rochester <-> Albany than directly to NYC. There are express megabus lines that make the trip to midtown NYC for $30 each way, while Coach/Greyhound lines that stop in Albany charge $60+ each way.

I mean... I can probably tell the megabus driver to dump me off at an Albany rest stop for full fare, but that seems unnecessary.

Possibly. I'm still waiting to hear Ether's Top Secret Location. If commuter lines run late to her pad area, I'm all set.

I don't know what transit is like now, but ~10 years ago I remember lines to Jersey suburbs cutting off after the 9-5 crowd was safely home.
