Yeh I wanted to enter something different to what I got 1st place with King Crimson for, yknow? Someone might like this who wouldn't like other stuff similar to Starless so nicer to give some variety.

Haven't heard Cirkus myself because Lizard/Islands aren't albums I see myself liking enough to fork out £6-7 each, from what I've heard they have very few good tracks, similar deal with Construkction of Light and Power to Believe. Shame they don't put their stuff to stream because I could probably find something worth liking enough to buy otherwise.

I quite like the instrumentation and stuff but damn I particularly dislike whichever singer was post-Greg Lake in early Crimson. I remember the one song on Wake of Poseidon he did vocals on being fairly weak and generally heard bad things about him and now I know why I guess. Shame, but I guess the weakness of those albums helped push the next (and imo best) phase of KC.

Original album version of Epitaph for me. Nothing can beat that beautiful little soft electric guitar part.

Generally in music it's original album versions (albeit usually remastered but that rarely affects the mix just the clarity) that I prefer. I've never enjoyed live versions (they always sound so sloppy and imprecise compared to album versions) and different versions of the recording just sound,, wrong to me. Occasionally I'll prefer a single version but that's in maybe one or two cases tops.
