I'd be totally open to hosting it in my home-town of San Diego (comeon, who doesn't love San Diego?) whenever it happens, unless someone wants to host it more in the middle ground (I get the feeling that the further people travel, the more expensive it is?).
Theoretically it would be in the summer of 2012...since I gather 2011 is too soon to get anything planed, but, you know, things happen.
Comeon people. LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN.
This is tentatively the third week of June, 2012. The dates will be set officially by December so people can start working on travel arrangements, including flying, driving, taking the train or bus, car-pooling, etc. After that date's officially scheduled, Shea will have dates for his meet for anyone interested in piggy-backing the two. We'll also be working on possible road trip plans for anyone who's trying to make both work. : )
Also, now that I actually have time on my hands again...
- All of the basics(clothes, toiletries including: contacts, solution, glasses, toothbrush, toothpaste, washcloth, razors, etc).
- If you can afford to bring a pillowwith you, bring it. We'll bring as many as we can, but even then that's only 10.
- If you can afford to bring a sleeping bagwith you, bring it. We have two couches, two air mattresses, two sleeping bags, and several blankets.
- A bathing suit(beach/pool).
- A towel. We have a lot of beach towels, but you might not want to mix any up with shower towels.
- Sunscreen.
- Water bottle.
- Computer+Phone. Chargers for both.(converters if you need them)
- Any gamesyou can fit/think people will want to play. We have games like Apples2Apples, Catch Phrase, Cranium, Uno, and several decks of cards.
- MONEY.Activities can cost anywhere between $10-$50 from the Piano Bar to the Zoo. Plan on covering all outside adventure food since there will be at least two days of not-at-house options...and if you're really awesome, pitching in for groceries/snacks/alcohol?If everyone who comes pitches in $20 for the entire week of shit provided at the house I would be a happy camper. <3
-There are definitely two showers to use.
-Don't use all the hot water.
-My brothers trump anyone else if they need to take one.
-A backyard for tenting it up (weather in San Diego is perfect at night)
-Plenty of floor space in two rooms
-Couch space
-A couple blowup mattresses
-some blankets
-some pillows
-All breakfasts
-Snacky stuff
-Make it yourself
-A few dinner options
(these are all provided at the house)
-There will be a generous supply
-Don't be stupid about it
-I don't want to know how old you are
-Edit: I'm recruiting Kison to help me pick people up since he lives close to the airport and can semi-easily take the detour to the airport on his way to my house. Because there are so many people flying, it would cost about and extra $70 in gas to make all the round trips to the airport, so the ~$3/50 min trolley ride from downtown will be the best option for those flying.
-Special arrangements can be made...most likely...
-We will have plenty of parking on the street/driveway
-beach day(s)
-dueling piano bar
-Coronado Island
-malls/parks
-Sea World/Zoo pending anyone wants to go/pay for it
-Reck/Brock ceremony
-personal pool
-mafia playing (obv)
-board games (obv)
(I offer all of the out-of-the-house options acknowledging those will probably not be taken advantage of, but are still fun)
-Don't be stupid
