~15 is a reasonable expectation.

Except for the limited edition UberNinja-only authetically katana-sliced shirt, which will sell for 150.

tbh, I'm more interested in cards than shirts. I think up to like $25 or $30 is a reasonable price for a deck of Mafia Cards depending on how many are in the deck.

http://www.plaincards.com/Store/shopdis ... gories.asp

Hey they have decent prices if anyone wants to make a mock-up deck. :D

Also https://www.thegamecrafter.com/ seems like a really decent priced option for if the card idea ever gains more ground.

I have a few ideas on card artwork and would like some constructive criticism about picking one to keep working on.

Left is a new cartoony look I've started recently. Its full-body stick figures where the outfits and poses can both describe the role.
Center is my most recent attempt at a classic portrait look. You can get more personality out of facial expressions, hair style, jaw line but I'm still not a great realism artist.
Right is a simple icon look I've been sitting on for a while. The outfit will be the only thing that makes each role's job stand out.

I also have another problem that's kept me from drawing more roles.
* What does a roleblocker / commuter / townie / traitor / tracker vs. watcher look like?
* If we have separate cards for one shot roles, how would they look different from regular docs, cops, vigs, etc?

Preference is Left, Right, Center.

idk, Roleblocker could hold a boa - and the name could be changed to "Private Dancer" or something to make sense? Commuter could be someone with like a train in the background or something, Traitor should look like the Townie with a gun or something. Watcher should have binoculars, and tracker should have a magnifying glass.

Missed this. Simply add "X" in the top left corner of the image or something. idk.

Nah I quite like it.

I'm not an artist but maybe I'd like it to have a more polished look? Not sure how to explain it.

There was a discussion a while back about not wanting to use raster graphics / anything that looks like ms paint's blocky lines, etc. The shadows and detail on the face is nice though.

BTW, I got sidetracked onto a different project so yeah, I fail at making MS cards again.

The pixellation is because there is no AA on it yet. Its 800*600 so it should be possible to make a good AA on it, but theoretically, I could go higher resolution. I dont think it shuold be necessary tough. Ill work on it some more, and see what it evolves into.

I
still
don't think it's a good idea to put Paint images on these cards. VisMajor's images are some of the best I've seen with Paint, but I still don't think it looks right. And when we shrink them down to fit in the cards (see above), I feel it'll just not work.

Are we calling it seer and not cop?

I mean, I just think since we're
mafia
scum.net, we should flavor it with mafia flavor, not werewolf.

I think the plan was to design it with mafia and werewolf, for 2 scumteams in face to face.

I really think it is time to begin to sell something, however little amount it is. Even if it is just to test the waters. Really the reason I believe it should be done quickly is the sooner it happens the sooner money could begin to flow and ultimately this site could pay for itself. A lot of interest has been displayed in buying.

But also I am unaware of how much it actually costs to run this site, so I might be wrong with the idea of it paying for itself. But a profit is a profit.

Perhaps a dedicated person/team should be put in charge of actually making this happen.

Also I agree with Hoopla's most recent post.
Although the border between madness and genius is very narrow.

Paying for the site is not an issue right now, but our initial t-shirt offering is already designed and I am still looking into printing options - singersinger gave me information about a company she has prior experience with, and I should be getting somewhere with that soon. Goal is to get shirts on bodies before Christmas.

I expect to open up pre-orders in the next week or so. Expecting price will be ~$15, shipped (US; a bit more for international). Will start a new thread when we get there.
