Hi all,

I'm just gauging interest in creating/maintaining a podcast. It'd probably be a combination between Mafia discussion, general discussion and interest, and banter between the hosts. I've participated in some Football Manager podcasts, including one with the main developer Miles Jacobsen, and I enjoy the sound of my own voice.

It's less pressure than *live* a radio show *in my opinion* because it can be produced at our leisure.

If you're interested, pop a post in here and say how interested you would be/what you want to talk about.

I'd mainly talk about modding games, from my point of view, and general Mafia Discussion, and the probably some sports/gaming chat to break it up a bit.

That's essentially what a lot of people did for the radio shows, not all radio shows had to be live.

Yes, thank you for pointing that out, but since the radio show has died off, I thought I'd renew interest without using the Radioscum name.

Also, it'd be recorded via Skype/Audible most probably, unless I can organise something better.

I'd be 100% up for doing a podcast. I too like the sound of my own voice and enjoy talking about...well, mostly anything. How would you plan on doing it? Go in a Skype call and record it?

I'm /in. I'd be happy to spout my reactionary views on both playing and modding (lol) as well as chipping in on sport/gaming/TV/film/books/frogs/Mars/whatever. Also I have an awesome mic that I want to try out on something like this.

No need to be uppity, you had incorrectly pointed out that it was easier to do this since it was live, I was merely pointing out that radioscum didn't require it to be live and offering that option.

I am suggesting (if we duo well enough) CDB and I as hosts with a rotating cast of 1 or 2 guests per 20-30 minute podcast.

If we introduce musical interludes it'd probably extend the time, but....our music taste is too awesome.

I will say from doing M&M back in the day, the musical interludes weren't nearly as interesting for the listeners as they were for the guests.

I encourage a 4 person podcast format, rather than a 3 person, with the rotation you suggested. Advantages of bringing in new people on any podcast include new points of view and new stories, and the advantages of keeping two semi-permanent (due to flexibility if there are V/LAs or w/e) include having experienced people on-hand to make sure things go smoothly and ensuring that things that were talked about on old podcasts aren't unwittingly gone over again.

Four people is vastly superior to three, in my opinion, because a three person podcast can devolve into two people talking and one person listening if two people get a conversation going whereas a four person podcast tends to include people evenly for the most part - at least with the ones I've watched in the past.

also as a note, live vs prerecorded is just two totally different environments, one isnt necessarily easier than the other

There are advantages and disadvantages to both, but prerecorded is "easier" in the sense that you can meet whenever people are available. It's more flexible to people's schedules, which I think is what Nexus meant.
