Super Tottenham, from the Lane!

I'd be utterly amazed to find more than the three of us here on scum, but I suggest all you Americans who enjoy the kind of football where you actually use your feet, but haven't found your team yet, join us in the support of the pride of London, Tottenham Hotspur FC.

I'd love to see (and to show you guys) my girlfriend in one of my Spurs shirts (preferrably the most recent one, tighter fit).

All I need is a girlfriend.

Count me in. I now have a
soccer
football team to root for.

Give me the lowdown: Who is my favorite player? Which fans should I try to pick a fight with? What beer do I drink? Do I complain about the management or do I deify them?

I'm IN, if flaky supporters are allowed?

Spurs have always been my team.. even though I know very little about them and don't follow the results etc.

The reason is, my mother, father and brother lived in England for several months around about 1990 (I stayed home with grandparents). While they were over there they decided to follow Tottenham, and they went to a Tottenham vs Westham game. (I think it was at White Heart Lane...?) They were late and could only get seats amongst the Westham supporters. So when my brother (aged 11 or something) stood up to cheer for the Spurs goal, my parents had to make him sit down because they feared for his safety, hehe.

Anyway, Spurs are my team, I even have a Spurs cap.

Commodore Amazing wrote:Who is my favorite player?
Robbie Keane, Jermaine Defoe, or Mido.
Commodore Amazing wrote:Which fans should I try to pick a fight with?
Arse
nal. Yes, they have the "Arse" in their name [the English version of "Ass"]. We call them "the Scum", which should be easy enough to remember.
Commodore Amazing wrote:What beer do I drink?
You tell me?
Commodore Amazing wrote:Do I complain about the management or do I deify them?
Our current manager is Martin Jol. He is Dutch, which is another reason why lots of people on this site should join the MTHFCSC. At present we like him because we are doing very well in the Premiership, we are above the Scum, and he has bought some good young players. No doubt this will change soon.

The stadium for the Milwaukee Brewers (a baseball team) is named "Miller Park." Everyone there drinks Miller Genuine Draft. The Chicago Cubs fans drink Old Style.

The American stereotype of European football fans is a belligerent drunk guy. I just assumed they'd all be drinking the same thing.

Come on you Spurs!

Did I do that right?
