Your computer will handle a newer card just fine and you will see a significant upgrade in video capability. Your machine just won't handle it as well as the newer machines out there on the market. (Which is to say a video card will perform a bit worse in your rig than it would in an i5 or an i7.) This card is a significant upgrade over what you have, is pretty close to your price range, and should be fine with your motherboard. Also interesting is that your motherboard supports crossfire mode, which is when you plug in two graphics cards and they act in tandem.
