There have only been three women to land the triple axel at the olympics. Only about 9 women have landed the triple axel in competitions.

No Russians women have a triple axel right now, and all women have each of the triple jumps besides the triple axel.

I don’t know the mechanics of snowboarding to judge the comparison though.

A dude hasn't won a with just a 1080 in 22 years.
The back flip was illegal when she did it. There was no way she was winning, and she knew it. She threw it in as a might as well have a moment rather than it being an actual part of a program.

(Sorry for interrupting, you guys are discussing my favorite sport :/)

My point is and was, in comparison to other sports, the vastness in the gap of performance in genders makes one basically unwatchable.

I can use a number of sports to demonstrate this, Figure Skating being one of them. Lysacek won Vancouver without quads, so at the very worst, the gap is 8ish years. And it doesn't seem nearly as large of a gap. Team USA swept the half medals in 2002 with back to back 1080s off the old small pipe. And the gap is bigger in slopestyle than it is in half pipe(which probably speaks to the greatness of Chloe Kim). I'm actually interested to watch women's big air just to see what's going on.

Went and watched the big air from the most recent x games. The girl won gold medal with 1 jump essentially. 1080 doublecork got a 49, her other move was a front side 360.

I think "years" is a really weird way to look at it.

I have no problem watching women's snowboarding.

I honestly prefer women's snowboarding because there's more variety and scores are based a lot heavier on clean landings.

Way too many hand drag landings in halfpipe men's that made qualifiers while cleaner more stylistic runs barely made it into the teens.

I think the lack of focus on variety and hitting clean is killing men's pipe and to an extent slopestyle as well. But, I haven't seen the men's pipe final yet and missed most of men's slope this year because NBC can't get their shit together.
