Holder of the Longest Continuous Weekly Mafiascum Post Record. 1 July 2012 - 16 Feb 2023
*It may be held by someone else if you discount the major downtime in 2012 and 2014, I'm not doing the research.
What this is the coolest Slopestyle course I've seen so far. Two sets for rails, and the first major jump has two curved options to pull early doublecorks!

the slopestyle course is clearly very difficult this year.
I'm in Vail during the US Open for snowboarding (slopestyle), about two weeks after the olympics and I may wander over to watch it in person. The halfpipe bores me though.

Yeah halfpipe is my least favorite boarding event.

Well, women's snowboarding just sucks in general. It's so far behind the men it's a joke. Chloe Kim threw a bunch of moves from 1995 and was hailed as the greatest female snowboarder of all time.
Why are we posting about the Olympic Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 in the thread of the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi 2014? Like, how much work does it take to make a separate thread for it...

This is true. I don't think I've seen a triplecork or a 1440 rotation in women's slope yet. Maybe on halfpipe?
But I think gold at Sochi was a 1260 doublecork on the last hill?

No. Absolutely not. The only girls throwing doublecorks are doing so in the back country. She won gold with 2 720s in 2014. This year it was a 900 and a 720.
Chloe Kim won halfpipe with back to back 1080s. I think she did a rodeo toward the end.
Korean dude that finished in 14th place in qualifying landed a double cork 1440.
I think that stat was for american women, cause both these russian girls have all sorts of triples. And again. there's other jumps. They do triple loops, triple toe loops. it's not just all the axel. It's essentially a 1 rotation difference.
in snowboarding it's 2 flips and 2 full spins of distance.
There ARE other jumps, but they're not as hard as the triple axle. It was the first woman to land it from the US. It was the third overall. (In the olympics)
I don't think you can easily compare rotations between launching yourself off the ice to do it and having a pipe or angled jump.
Right, and a girl did a straight back flip in 94 too but they then made it illegal cause it was too intense. And it's 1 quad. People were still winning gold medals without quads as recently as 2010.
