I actually didn't recognize that one

While I love musical theatre, my experience is pretty limited to Sondheim and the bare bones classics

It's from On The Town, Leonard Bernstein music. I thought of it because of the thread title, and because the show's about 3 sailors who have one day in New York.



"Wonderful" in that video should be "Helluva" but censors happened.

The particular song I referenced is sung when one of the sailors wants to see sights but his information's all outdated. There's more to the song but that's the key part for this thread.

Take the 4/5/6 (green line) to bowling green and then walk to the ferry and take the ferry (free) to staten island and back - it is the best view of the city and statue of liberty without actually being on the island or the paid ferry to get there.

obv you need to at least walk through times square once if you havent - start at 46th street at 7th ave and walk south on 7th. it crosses with broadway right in the center.

there's way too much stuff to do in just a day, but these two things are the most iconic and best for pictures and shit to actually see for free.

for food, there's literally thousands of options, depending on what you want. tell me what you like and i can tell you the most reasonable and delicious place to go
