Yost says Young's limit was 50, and he pitched 53....so he'll be pitching in Game 4 on 4 days rest. Guess Medlen will be saved in case Ventura or Cueto don't go deep. Curious to see which Cueto shows up today - he seems to be really fired up during home games but then lets the crowd get to him during away games. I like how he is pitching games 2 and 6 both at the K. It'll also be interesting to see if Volquez is OK and will be able to pitch Game 5 (or again in the series, for that matter).
Who are you rooting for? I'm into the Royals redeeming themselves, but the Mets have the underdog thing going. I like seeing new/expansion teams in the WS, so hopefully this goes 7! Plus both teams have styles enjoyable to watch. Mets starting rotation is stellar, just worry about their inexperience and pitching this late into the season (especially Thor, Harvey and Matz).- MonkeyMan576

I have trouble seeing either the Mets (est. 1962) or the Royals (est. 1969) as "new/expansion teams", if I'm honest. 40+ years of existing would seem to be long enough to establish yourself. One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.- Bert

Yeah, I see what you mean. Good point.
New/expansion probably is the wrong word to describe it. KC hasn't been taken seriously as a contender in so long, so it's just refreshing to see them make it far before their window with this core closes around '17
And Mets rather than the Yankees is refreshing to see too.- Sudo_Nym

I get what you mean, then. Last year was the first time the Royals had been in the WS since before I was born, and this is the first time the Mets have been in in almost a decade; it's nice to see things get mixed up, especially since the lack of salary cap means that top teams tend to stay top teams for a lot longer than in other sports. It's also a triumph of the Royal's farm system; a lot of the top guys on this team are people who were drafted with the top picks the Royals have gotten with years of bad performance, raised through their farm system, and now excelling on the roster. Eventually, their contracts will come due, and we'll see what happens then; I seem to recall the Royal's office as being pretty tight on the budget. One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies.
