Help my find out about an oddity in my vision

So ever sense I was a kid (we are talking like 5ish) I noticed that when looking at a specific chair that had a very tight plaid I would see grey silvery streaks flashing all over it. Even today when looking at a grid I will see those same grey silvery lines diagnoanlly connecting the squares. I have also noticed that certain floors (specifically this grey, bumpy one) will twist and turn as if it were made of a liquid. When walking at a very slow pace and looking down and path I will see the little pebbles in the concrete/pavement streak slightly.

What the hell is this? I have only met one other person who has said they had a perception anywhere close to this. I'm not bothered by it, it can be a bit distracting occasionally though.

Why wouldn't you ask an eye doctor about it instead? Or have you?

I haven't because honestly it wouldn't be worth he money. I'm more curious about what the fuck it is than "fixing" it...

Might be a purely perception thing, kind of like optical illusions or the like.

For what it's worth, I can't replicate what you see so you can rule out shitty eyesight or astigmatism

It depends on the lighting, but generally I see it all the time.

Do the grid diagonals go away if you close one eye?
I'm no expert but this sounds like a binocular vision fusion thing.
