Poutine is also the French spelling for Putin (as in Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin), which gives these last few posts another absolutely awe-inspiring dimension.
V. Hugo's Les Misérables is one of the most iconic novels in the history of French literature, so I think it's justified to keep an adaptation's title untranslated.

The only other novel title we don't translate is
Á la recherche du temps perdu
. Pretty much everything else gets shamelessly anglicised, cf.
No Exit
and
The Stranger
.
