I still recall the Autumn leaves crunching underfoot as Sensei Takeda lead me through our usual forest path. In the clearing beyond was the Tsuko River, whose currents were so vigorous that Sensei himself would falter and stumble against the whisking waves. During this season, however, the river ran placid and serene, reflecting the nature in which it was nestled.
