I wanna get better make-up but I am 1) broke and 2) don't have any friends to go makeup shopping with and 3) I don't even know where to start. When you do drugstore and cheap shit you just grab whatever works and you make it work. I don't know if I have the info to buy a 45$ palette.

This is the same problem I have with styling my hair. The exact same. The same with getting a tattoo. It's like I'm constantly DREAMING of this picture of myself and I get really excited but my own insecurities stop me from following through.

I tried eyeliner today, after thinking about it for a while. It turns out I don't do anything without thinking about it for a while. I watched a bunch of tutorial videos, but I had some problems. The first is that I can't see without my glasses on, so I have no idea where my eye line is. My eyebrows naturally furrow, so I have to actually hold the skin there to stretch it enough to even reach it. And also, I can't wing to save my life. I'm a bad, basically.

I've been practicing, and I'm doing alright with my actual eye. I've tried wings a few time, and I got it really good once, and then never again. Still not courageous enough to wear it outside the house, though.

sudo i think it is a good idea to practice a lot before rockin it in public
tbh i will put on some eyeliner and think "wow i am lookin good today" then someone will say "wow caled u look nice today who are u dressing up for ;)" and then i'll get embarrassed and self conscious and then wipe it off

Absolutely it is. You will be amazed at how much you can femme up your face with little stuff. You don't have to "pass female" to start moving towards a less masculine look. Be okay with baby steps.

hi i have 0 experience with everything, but i think it would be nice to try and experiment with looking more "feminine" (more androgynous?). I don't know how achievable that is.
idk... i think i would want to try basic makeup shit. i don't know anything about it.
also maybe grow out my hair to like... some length. longer than "typical asian male" hair

sorry for triple posting but like.... usually ive seen most people start using makeup to cover up blemishes and then move on to wilder looks

except if ur ommy and u create wild ass eyeshadow looks all the time

I'm still struggling to get eyeliner on straight Haven't practiced in a bit, though, since I've been going into the office more often and I'm not good enough at it to be seen in public yet.

hey, tbh i can't do eyeliner that well either, tho i actually do all my eyeliner now with eyeshadows and an angled brush (much easier application at the cost of a slightly more faded colour than if you used a liquid). if you struggle with using pencils consider the eyeshadow+angled brush trick.

but anyway, man who cares about perfect makeup tho. its overrated! and it makes us feel sad about having less than perfect makeup. embrace the quirks and "mistakes", yo. this is a world where so many people have more experience and more polish than you, so dare to be different and dare to be rough around the edges and dare to try new things and out of the box looks cos thats where you find your individuality and thats where you begin 2 shine on ur own. wear ur mistakeup with pride, gurl
