NOOOOOOOO lotr is winning, sleeping 1984 army go
Also, what is NM doing? Worst play I’ve ever seen.
I can't remember the last N_M post that wasn't bland, unimaginative and lame. Some shitposters are at least somewhat funny. You are the epitomy of the type of poster that nobody would miss if you were to suddenly disappear. You never add anything of value.
I'm guessing you haven't read the game and probably never will? Why even sign up to play?

If LOTR wins this will be a waste of everyone's time. Is there a more plebeian mainstream-and-hollywood-but-people-pretend-it-isn't choice?

So 23 should vote for a book that barely anyone likes so we can pretend we are better than other people?

What's wrong with having a pleb mainstream book as champion

I would expect something like that to win in a popularity contest anyway
There's nothing that says that a fake can't beat the real thing.

You must not imagine that for beings like you and us there can be laughter. The low men laugh, and we envy them. But for us, the higher ones, there is no laughter, only an unending vigil, purely serious, stretching on into the night.

Because if I had to guess I'd say at least a large cut (perhaps a majority) of people voting for it are voting not on the merits of the book itself but rather the franchise that has popped up around it.

Eh, I disagree. LOTR got knocked out in the Quarter-Finals last time against 1984. If anything it should have done better in 2009 than today because it was closer to when the movies had been released.

Maybe the shift from dystopia to fantasy says something about our society.
