(3) Yes, I use almost all of the listed features. My computer's clock is 30 seconds ahead of mafiascum.net's clock, so having the time on the index page is useful. I disable smilies. The notification that the BBcode, URL, and IMG tags are ON seems to be important? I don't disable BBcode; that would screw up 99.9% of the games run here given how liberal moderators are with formatting. The most useless UI feature would be disabling YouTube videos, as it doesn't work.
(4) Private topics, V/LA banner, Activity overview, Display posts by user, vote tags
(5) :twisted:, :oops:, :lol:
(6) Anything that could have been converted in text (i.e., colon and parenthesis)
(7) Casual user, former power user
(8) Depends on context

For (8), I use mafSilver exclusively because it's what I've been using for six years, and not much is going to get me to change to any other skin. For websites in general, I prefer light background. For ebooks or other long reading, I prefer dark background.

(1) I use egosearch mostly, if I want to read discussion threads I click on the site logo to get there, I neither use nor understand how to use bookmarks / subscriptions
(2) Always the header, I use the home key to go back up
(3) They're all USELESS, I wonder if the email button could be used to spam people

2. Whichever is most convenient at the time - usually the header but I wouldn't want to lose them from the footer.

View new posts - this one is impractical as it shows both too much (all posts made on site since I was last on, including posts from games), and too little (it doesn't include discussion posts I didn't have time to read earlier).
View unread posts - mainly filled with posts from games forums. The view active topics link which excludes these is much more useful.
"do we really need the site to tell us "It is currently Wed May 11, 2016 10:38 pm" - I must admit I never even noticed this before, or the text on the right hand side telling me when I was last on. I don't think either are useful to me.

4. Without doubt the ISO feature is tops, post numbering and the ability to easily link to a post, private topics, activity overview, the new autolock.

Yeah, I don't use any of that. I also type out all my bbcode and stuff too though. It's just so much easier on my phone.

ISO is necessary. PTs have grown on me. The activity checking thing can be cool too. I also like to be able to check someone's threads from their profile for meta purposes (being able to filter to just mafia games would be awesome by the way)

Not quite sure what you're asking. I'm on mafiascum more than any other site (facebook is a close second) but if this question is specific to the wiki, I hardly touch it.

3. Disable BBCode button by far.
4 Private Topicsm followed closely by ISOs. Also: Activity Overview for modding. Vote tags are a very nice convenience.

8. Light on dark, by far. I have a visual impairment, so better contrast helps a lot. That being said, PTs background has very poor contrast with a lot of colors, and I learned yellow's the best there.

1. subscriptions, because the emails send to something I've forgotten and never check, but somewhere there's a feature I checked where I auto-subscribe to anything I've posted in (and unlike the egoposts link I can remove threads I'm no longer interested in). I sometimes use 'breadcrumb navigation' to check for new threads but that's not very often at all, like once a month or two I guess

3. I wouldn't know because I probably didn't even notice them. Except for that little tiny arrow button that sends you to the top of the page. I never use it and usually forget it exists and it's easier for me to hold down scroll or page up anyway.

Well the distinction between subscriptions and bookmarks is horrible. Etc.

Oh prize for the most useless link on this page is the link for the "Scum Chat" which attempts to open an AIM Chatroom that no longer exists using a chat client almost no one has installed. In fact AIM chats no longer exist. And site chat is at the bottom of the screen.

It's like useless on so many different levels its hard to quantify.

The members link has to be a close second though.
