Bah. EST will remain a secondary timezone until I enter it.
One time, back in 'nam, Sudo was set upon by an entire squadron of charlies. He challenged them all to a game of Pictionary, which he won resoundingly. The charlies were forced to not only surrender the skirmish, but also their world-famous chili recipe, which Sudo sold to Texas for a hefty profit. Sudo is a master of diplomacy.

I'm unfortunately working until late on Tuesday, but I can meet with you guys on Wednesday or Thursday evenings if there are plans then. I also know at least one IRL friend who might be interested in coming to specific events.

Do people have particular touristy things you want to do? I can give recommendations.

Well, I'm an American, so at some point I'm going to want to eat Canadian food. Other than that, I'm putting myself in your guys' hands and trusting you to show me the cool stuff.

The following are mandatory, in that case:

1) Poutine
2) Smoked meat (however, I veto the Reubens that we go to EVERY meet, even though I warn people in advance that it's not good and they agree with me afterwards)
3) Montreal bagels (such as St. Viateur or Fairmount bagels).

Since it's too early for a Cabane à sucre, those are the only major Montrealer/Quebecer/Canadian foods I can think of.

What's wrong with the Reubens we go to every time? It's nice!

p.s. I'm not trucking through a Dram death march in the snow unless it's for smoked meat.

There are two Reuben's on the exact same street, a few blocks away from each other. (Apparently, they were founded by the same people a long time ago but are run completely independently now.) Even the reviews seem to mix them up half the time. But one of them I haven't been to in years, but I remember liking. The other one I've gone to many, many times, because I'm always with people who refuse to walk to 1116 and don't believe me when I say 888 is worse, but the food is not great quality (frozen fries, iceberg lettuce, etc.).

p-edit: ninja'd by ABR! Can you please insist we go to the
good
Reuben's this time, since maybe they'll listen to you? :P

In case it hasn't become obvious, I'm not going to make it :(

Boss took a 3 week vaca to Nova Scotia, so I work straight through from tomorrow to the 7th of Jan, with New Years Day excepted.

I'll make one of these one day, and it will be glorious!
Have an amazing time without me everyone!
