I had a bit of a weird relationship with scumchat when I first joined. It was so different from basically any other part of the site. It was just people being their weird selves. I'm not sure I was ever really a "regular" but I did spend a good amount of time in it. I always had a bit of a different view of it from other regulars though. I'd do things like chat, or participate in mafia, or join board games on random board game websites. I always had a bit of a problem with the trolling of the "scumchat troll posse" though. It always seemed like really silly ways to spend time and turn other people off of interacting with those users outside the forums. Because if they act like that on the forums, why interact with them

. But it was actually a really important part of my growth and maturation as a person. Some of the conversations there were catalysts to some personal changes I've had in the last few years. Without it, I don't think I would ever have been comfortable enough on the site to go to the one meet I was able to go to.
I don't play in Mafia games around here any more due to the time required, and I barely post(although I do follow several threads), but I'm still around, and scumchat and the people from it are some of the reasons why.
