What if I made a boat that has a battery, which starts a water pump, which pumps water in from the ocean, through a filtration system that removes the salt, then into a reservoir that is heated by heating elements, which are powered by the battery, converted into steam, the steam pushes the pistons, which then turns the alternator, which keeps the battery charged to power the water pump and the heating elements, and turns the propeller? Seems like that would work

Why would it be expensive? Why would the world not work together on something that would benefit everyone? Why is money even a thing? Why don't we have the research done?
