I'm Sammy B all day.

Oliver is great, too, though.

Best political satirist SB. The vagina monologue for the win. As satire it hit all the bulls eyes. Unlike the media commentators or anyone else that thought saying pussy was tut tut or in anyway wrong. Yes folks women have pussies. Now being possibly graphic in how you talk about things is something that happens in private. That probably shouldn't be news worthy but I know how little children like to giggle at such things. Its the assault. Its the 'pimping' when you get off the bus. Its the actually doing that in a real situation at work with your colleague either for the day, or longer term. SB cut most totally to the heart. Being that the issue was talking about how women feel and I have never been there (Wolf whistled in the street) just railed against it she had an advantage for once. One point not hit, is what does it say about a person when assault abuse of power is a thing you brag about real/imagined. Although it is utterly doubled down on by real women coming forward since. Even if that coming forward had never happened, I am still stuck at.... and you boast about that? And now that its looking rather real, and you boast about that, adds recalcitrant recidivist to the charges.
and the best single moment.

Most informative news anchor out of that list. Maximising on both pertinent truthiness, and factiness : Colbert or Noah but I didn't watch enough Noah to decide.

Id be sad if I didn't also give thumbs up to SNL. Watching the moderators knock back shot before the debate, really made me understand some of the intonations I heard in real life reporters voices after that. I wonder if PTSD is thing for reporters. The ones kept in cages at the back of Trump rallies are probably high priority for some TLC. or twelve step program to help them kick the habit. The rush of covering story that just keeps on giving, even if they are new lows, might be addictive for some.

Maybe. But at the same time he's had some pretty strong stuff on more esoteric things and I think that's been pretty valuable.

also his interview with Edward Snowden still stands out as some really, really good work; basically 99% of the criticism of Snowden has come from people who believe that, because what he did was illegal, it is wrong, and that he should therefore be punished for it, and it was really refreshing to see someone directly address the fact that some of the information releases were handled in a poor manner by the media while still acknowledging that the information needed to be released.

in general John Oliver does his best work when he's focusing on topics that most people don't know about or perspectives that most haven't considered, but those don't tend to be the segments that get the most attention.

essentially all use humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues

i get the point you're trying to make
you equate satire with parody
but most sources allow that it has many forms, and besides mostly all of the people mentioned indulge in political parody on a episodic basis anyway

the entire point I was making was that OTHER people are equating satire and parody

and I think they're different
