Dates are confirmed to be Friday, July 14, through Wednesday, July 19.

That will be five nights. Since neither LlamaFluff nor I have a strong preference for location, we'd like to leave it to the wisdom of the crowds. Please let us know if you can attend a meet in the Bay Area, Los Angeles area, both, or neither:

Airbnb costs are about $220-250 per person for a five-night stay in the Bay Area, ranging from Pleasanton to Santa Cruz. Any location we choose should be accessible by BART or carpooling.

Airbnb costs are about $135-220 per person for a five-night stay in the Los Angeles area. Even if we will not be in downtown proper, we will be in the metropolitan area accessible by carpooling or public transportation.

We will go with whichever location is more popular. Please keep in mind that these prices depend on ten guests maximum in the Airbnb, so there might be slight changes if we are expecting more people.

Transportation wise I will be driving from Sacramento no matter which place we host, and can fit up to five total (four is more comfortable, just have a hatchback) for the trip. I could swing near East Bay for people who would be in the area or can take BART out to the more outlying areas, but don't want to really do a SF/Oakland stop unless necessary since that would add a few hours to what would already be in the best case a seven hour drive for me.

If I pick up people/drop them off know I would be there the whole time, so if you are limited on when you will be out plan accordingly.

The gist being, both locations are equally 'probable' for me. Would likely fly either down to LAX airport

if the Bay Area is chosen, I will want to know where the AirBnB is so I can quickly decide on the closest airport. Even if I can attend, it will be a short visit for me -- I cannot afford the vacation time, so I would probably either fly early on Friday and leave Sunday evening, or else fly in on Saturday (or very late Friday after work) and leave Monday evening.

Overall my chances of attendance have fallen, since the time for me to secure tickets and a day off have been squeezed. I'd say I'm at about 30% chance for attendance.

Given that there were more votes for Bay Area than Los Angeles, the meet will be held in Pleasanton, California, on the dates indicated. Payment information will be coming shortly, but please expect to put a deposit down soon, as LlamaFluff plans on booking within the next week if not tomorrow. There is a daily maximum of

ten guests

per night, and that is what we will be booking at the Airbnb.

If you indicated in the survey that you were not sure, then please let us know as soon as possible whether or not you are coming so we can accommodate you. Everyone who indicated that they would place a deposit will be receiving a PM requesting dates.

People flying into Sacramento International Airport (SMF) will likely have a carpool. If you're a local and willing to offer transportation, or if you're in need of transportation, then please let either of us know so I can put you on a carpool list.

tragic. fellow socal fans pls look 4ward to the "come hang out at kandyes apt across from the wholefoods and then hit up a nice karaoke spot" meet coming later this summer. itll feature such great accomodations as "look just get an uber or use the flyaway shuttle theres no way im driving to lax at this time of day" pickup service from lax and "what? no theres no way you can bring that dead cow in2 my apartment and cook it, thats called murder" fine dining options.

If you're renting a car or something, SJC is roughly as close as OAK, but will be significantly harder to use public transportation to get to Pleasanton.
