guy was a super underrated QB so its no surprise that he can read the field.

I've always said that Romo's main problem was that he played for Dallas. Dallas wanted and expected him to be the next Aikman or Staubach. He wasn't those things, but he still was a good QB. Everyone expected too much of Romo which led to him trying too hard and getting blamed for a lot of stuff. Sure some of it was his fault, but most of it was a result of expectations not syncing up. Now that we don't have an expectation of him in terms of commentating, he finally has a chance to impress as apposed to a chance to disappoint.

disagree. I'd argue that his being oft-injured was his downfall.

Re: romo: I think he was perfectly fine. Most years he was like the 5th or 6th best QB in football and all the ones ahead of him are going to the hall of fame. Sometimes you are simply just good and other guys are great. I really don't think there is a complex reason for it.

Well I’ve held on as long as I can. I'm officially panicking about the defense. Carolina was taking huge chunks of yards all game.

Oh no, the Pats are doing bad things

These things are so scary that they’ll only go 13-3 this year :(

Until BUF, NYJ, and or MIA prove they can beat NE, NE has nothing to worry about. They'll make playoffs every year until one of them steps up.

Romo's health is what finished him off. But the problem that was there even in his early years was that he was good and not great and Dallas is too used to great, not willing to settle for just good. Romo was at his best as a Game Manager QB with Murray running strong. Had Dallas addressed the run game earlier in his career and not put the offense mainly on Romo, I think Dallas could have had more playoff wins, maybe even a superbowl. Romo was not good under pressure. You pressure him to be Aikman or Staubach, and he won't be them. Especially without Emmitt Smith or Tony Dorset.

I'm not panicking until they're played divisional games, but the Pats defence is looking garbage. They're giving up way too many rushing yards, and the secondary is looking poor. It's frustrating, because theoretically Gilmore should have made the secondary better, but instead, paying him instead of Malcolm Butler seems to have put the holdovers into a funk, and Gilmore isn't exactly performing to his price tag either. Gotta fix it, or it'll be a disappointing season where, like, the Pats lose the AFC Championship game. :(

At least I can enjoy the Jets totally Jetsing up their attempts to tank for a QB in next year's draft.

If the original Patriots defense was this bad, we'd all be British.
