I mean yeah, I agree that the Titans win the South and could have a chance to beat KC if they played each other again, but I feel like the Chiefs have shown over the past few years that they are pretty consistent. I can't really see the Chiefs going worse than 10-6 and even that is the very worst they could do. The Titans would be overacheiving with that record.

Mariota is pretty solid, but doesn't have many weapons to use. The Chiefs are MUCH better than the Titans on defense. They are more explosive on offense. They can beat probably anyone in the AFC except maybe New England. I'm just not confident making the same statement against the Titans.

True. true.

A lot of things can change. For all we know, a superstar player accidentally shoots himself in the leg, gets in a motorcycle accident, or goes down with a severe injury in camp. These are the kinds of things that can change everything. The draft is no exception. And when those things happen, predictions and analysis are forced to change.

Still fun to look at.

The Raiders have officially been cleared to move to Las Vegas. Will spend the next 2 years in Oakland while a stadium is being built and move in 2019.

Once Raiders are in Vegas I need to go to Vegas to bet on which player will go crazy partying there during the year. You have guys in their 20s in vegas, somebody is gonna be dumb

Doubt it
Vegas is just a gaudy version of things players already have access to
the ones doing stupid crap in clubs are already managing to do that

The bigger danger to the NFL is a Raider practice squadder with money troubles selling the info that, say, David Carr has a hurt throwing arm after getting hit the week before even if the team proclaims he's 100% to people involved in gambling.

That and the guy who's announced plans to set up a Raider-themed brothel...

Good move imo, Raiders were just not on the same page as Oakland. Smaller market, but one filled with tourists who love to throw money around and watch a spectacle. Should work out well for them, but maybe hits the NHL franchise moving in there a little harder?

The only thing I'm concerned about with the Raiders in Vegas is the potential loss of the home field advantage that they have. Vegas being a huge tourist destination makes it a lot more appealing for opposing fans than travelling to the East Bay.

Yeah, I can get behind a "let's spend the weekend in vegas then go to the game" loss of home field advantage theory. Especially cause it's hella cheap in december and kinda november too.

I'm a Raiders fan who absolutely can't wait to spend a week in Vegas and then catch the game. I'd be less likely to do that if it was another team.

I know that I said something about it before I even joined this site and I might have said something in previous NFL threads but it makes a shit ton more sense (to me atleast) to have more regional type divisions since I think you'd get more fans to travel shorter distances than longer ones.
Of all tyrannies,a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

yeah but Oakland and San Diego are in the same region. The team in that division that is half way across the country is KC. You can't even get a flight out there without a big layover. Like if the Division was Oak, SD, DEN, LV, that's a regional division. Or I guess LA now. LA, OAK, DEN, LV would be nice, esp cause LA got hella non stop flights.

But for the same reason you guys would, is the same reason Denver Fans, KC Fans, the Nonexistant Charger fans, or whoever else you guys play 2 years from now would. Vegas is dope, and football is also dope.

Fine, Derek Carr, the point still stands.

In 2017, though, what honestly prevents this from already being an issue?

What makes someone more likely to things that break the rules in Vegas that they cannot do in any other city in the country? You're telling me a practice squad player can't gamble in Green Bay? Do you think a player can't hire a prostitute in Tallahassee?
