Theresa May is such a fan of elections that after 2015's General Election and Labour Leadership, 2016's Referendum and Leadership Election for Labour and Tories, she felt like something would be right in 2017, so she's gone for a general election again to spice things up.

Here is where we can discuss the UK's Last Election.

Oh! another thread where I get to point out how bad Corbyn is and how much Labour screwed up by picking him.

If they thought this was coming, is it possible they just wanted him as a sacrifice? (talking about the 2nd one here)

Do you mean "Labour knew they'd lose so put someone in leadership who they hate so whoever is next is untarnished"?

I think probably not as it was largely grassroots campaigners who pushed Corbyn hard. The Labour MPs largely didn't want Corbyn.

I did mean that.

No, the grassroots just love Corbyn

fuck sake.

I would support the Lib Dems but it turns out Tim Farron is also a pretty horrible person.

He's a lovely
person
, but his voting record is hardly liberal...

Apparently he was asked three times if gay sex was a sin and he didn't answer. Sigh.

It's fine, a large amount of us have noone to vote for, the parties we have have ineffectual leaders, consist of liars/crooks or are okayish but want to break the UK apart and would have absolutely no impact on who would become leader of the country. The only change will be that UKIP will do well making the country more divided than before, more bigoted than before and ultimately shitter than before and we can relax and fall into this giant chasm of despair and then nothing will matter. So it's all good.

An interesting note is that the voting date, 8th June, is during exam season which is shady as hell, particularly for many 18 year olds who will be in the middle of A-level exams.

Maybe it's a coincidence, but considering that Conservative get a very low percentage of the youth vote it's really questionable.

I for one welcome the tory evil empire. The greater the Tory boogeyman the more likely indyref 2 : Electric Leavaroo will go through.

Nah, there's enough people here with an ounce of sense to realise that the absolute worst thing Scotland could do now is go it alone.
