there's a couple of shitty meme rappers i can't stand but i think the state of hip hop is strong
I already know I don't like Drake, Kendrick Lamar or Kanye. I was going to check out the rest of the list, but decided to just listen to Bone Thugs instead
btw thx for the Big K.R.I.T. rec. I checked out a few songs and definitely enjoyed them. Will look at more
OK I've spent the last week or two off and on going through Rap Critic's channel since I found he likes rap styles similar to my preferences, and I was completely wrong. Rap is in fact quite good right now, just not the crap I hear on the radio/at the gym, which is probably the normal state of most music genres. I think most all I hear is Drake or some soundalike and I really don't like Drake at all (also don't like pretty much any Mumble rap). I'm sure we can all sleep easy now that I've corrected this misconception.

It might end up being my favorite album by him when it's all said and done. I love the sense of maturity and emotion displayed that goes well with how he switched things up again to show he wasn't just an old dog who couldn't learn those new tricks. I wanted him to explore the synthy side to him while not sticking with the same sound, and that's exactly what we got. The album feels serious while being playful at times. My favorite stretch of the album is the final four songs as those are probably his strongest consecutive songs!
