Do you think that anti-leaving law harms people physically and mentally? If so, hasn't democracy failed in its job of doing the least harm?
There's nothing that says that a fake can't beat the real thing.

Yes. Democracy, has, indeed, failed in its job. That is because democracy is not a perfect system.
However, I do not see any superior option to democracy.

What if I told you that a benevolent dictatorship would lead to less harm because it doesn't have the same flaws democracy does?

What if I told you that a benevolent dictatorship system is even more flawed and is also unsustainable?

Can you explain how it's flawed and unsustainable?

What is your personal moral belief on murder, do you think it's okay to kill a person who murdered a person to prevent future murders?

There are worse things than murder. In self-defence it is ok like if it is do or die.

First off, you all can have your free will.

But do humans have free will in the first place? And if they do, to what degree? I mean many of our decisions are influenced by education (formal and informal), opportunities, past experiences, personal beliefs, etc. So while theoretically a person has a multitude of choices when facing a decision, taking everything into consideration, he/she is way more limited in his/her choices.
This is if you don't believe in the idea that given the exact same circumstances (including internal ones) a person will always make the same decision- which would mean there is no "free will".

They do have choices, they just choose a certain option. Just cause an action is predictable doesn't make it not free.

a pre-game encounter in chat seemed to indicate that this is, regrettably, his playstyle."

Well, one non-extinct life form isn't better than another. Like rats or tree aren't less than Humans.

Do governments of wealthier/more developed nations have a responsibility to give foreign aid to poorer/less developed countries when the money could be spent to improve people's lives domestically? Do periods of economic downturn affect this?
