When I was in high school and college, I was dead set on becoming a sports writer.

I didn't want my current job until the day I got the call saying I'd been accepted to try for the job. I only got that far because my dad filled out all of the paperwork in my name and forged my signature on it because it's what he does and he wanted me to do it too. Then I decided screw being happy, I'll make decent money right away instead.
Holy shit same for the NASCAR thing. I realized it was unsafe myself though.

In reality, the ones I wanted to be were astronaut, detective, and scientist. But astronaut can fit into the scientist category so I voted scientist.

So I thought about this for a while because human memory can be quite warped. I'm pretty sure it went:
preschool + elementary school) break dancer
middle school +early high school) architect/musician
late high school + early college) psychologist/neurologist
final destination) neuroscientist

I actually remember getting to high school and excitedly telling my father that I was going to join the "Future Homemakers of America" club, and was quite confused as to why that had nothing to do with architecture.

Astronauts require very spesific physical requirements. No appendix for one.

Also RadiantCowbells is amazing.

I wanted to be a teacher. When I was 7-8 years old I was convinced that teachers just have a blast when they give us tons of homework, are delighted when we have to take tests, hate holidays and are very happy when the school starts again. My interest kind of dropped when I've started to realize that torturing students isn't that exciting for teachers plus that it involves actual work on their part :P

Astronaut

Would gladly go to space all alone and spend rest of my life all alone in space

I'd hate to be a lot of the other things on that list.
