I think it typifies the band and the album perfectly. I can understand it's not for everyone. I met them when they played band on the wall, manchester. I'm hoping to see them again this autumn.

I'm a big fan of concept albums. And you don't get a better fit for war than industrial music.

Agreed. It had a good beginning, but it lost it for me.
Yep same for me. At first It sounded like something I would give high points to but then it got very whatever

I am thinking that, just to shake things up, I'm going to add something to my rankings post this time. I'll post the regular top 10, and then for everything else I'll just take one sentence from my notes and post that. May or may not have anything to do with how I feel about the song.

It is funny I was cut and I actually don't mind. I was being (trying) funny. I was having thoughts while I was out yesterday (knowing the songs were being posting but not having access to find out what they were for a while) I submitted the wrong one and maybe should have done one that is more appropriate to MS.

bolivia- okay....i LOVE blixa but....what was this?

i looked it up and got this:
"“This is an example of a Wikipedia supported composition,” smiles Bargeld. “I did a mathematical calculation. saying each beat is one day, we're doing it in 4/4, at 120 beats per minute, and each instrument is one of the powers involved. We tried it in 60 bpm it is true – that was 26 minutes long, which was quite annoying. We could have sped it up to 160 bpm and it would have been comical. So 120, it’s a good medium decision. We had 20 different pipes to represent all the different nations and the duration of their involvement. It starts from beat 1, Serbia, Austria, Germany, and tak tak tak tak, whoever comes in joins this big party of the First World War run until the start of armistice.

“It's a statistical piece of music,” declares Bargeld, “a statistical piece of dance music in fact, because if you hear that, you want to move around to it.”
okay...i appreciate the research behind this, but ultimately it's Dada-ist stuff that i cant appreciate nor respect and doesn't evoke any feelings in me. descriptions of this album claim that it's supposed to evoke the horrors embedded in the sounds they conjure from the terror of the industrialized 20th century. in reality, it fails to be more than a cold mathematical piece. compare this to schnittke's compositions, for example, that were also inspired by the horrors of war, you dont even need to be told what the music is about to recognise that you're listening to miniature nightmares

Going down the list

Albania - A band I've neglected, but at what cost? Probably not a lot because I didn't feel this too much. Had a decent start but then deteriorated for me (6)
Loas - Not Face Down, instant 0/10 for not pandering to my middle-school nostalgia (4)
Somalia - Panders to my middle-school nostalgia; is this Metalcore? (5)
Fiji - Never watched HunterxHunter, this is p good (7)
Burkina Faso - Oh, this is the girl with the weird album cover of her on an exercise ball, don't like her voice so couldn't get into it. The music video was also really artsy and weird but the type of art that is trying too hard to be art (5)
USA - P good as well, seems so far the people who picked japanese music are winning out thus far (6.5)
Kenya - I honestly didn't even click the link because I don't like Glass Animals, sry (4 based on a guess)
Cote d'Ivoire - I'm assuming by now that all of the songs that are japanese are from anime, this one I'm not feeling as much, feels like a sporadic and twisted nursery rhyme (6)
Taiwan - I already know I like this because it's Jim O' Rourke, however Something Big and Please Patronize our Sponsors are better (Listen to Halfway to a Threeway if you haven't already) (8)
Canada - I expected Bubblegum Bass/Future Funk and I was right on the money. Between you and me, I enjoy this in moderation and suggest whoever submitted this to look up the PC Music label (6)
Hong Kong - Shadows Fall..almost read it like Shadows Fail. This is now the 3rd time this contest has tried to tipped me off on my angsty teenage years. What the he-
Holy shit this from Madden 08 you people are fucking cheating
(6)
Afghanistan - Production "good", very modern. Artist also someone who takes from his contemporaries too much (e.g Wannabe Frank Ocean) (6)
Ecuador - "Murder by Death" Well...alright. This is interesting, but it's just not for me (6)
Iceland - Damn, I liked this at first but then they decided to be Black Metal. This dissonance...just does not work (5)
Bolivia - This is hilarious. These old German men give the audience a history lesson about the pipes and then beat the shit out of them for 16 minutes. And they say Art is dead!?!? (6)
Georgia - I remember this album, it's solid (7)
Azerbaijan - I need PCP to fully enjoy and experience this track, but right now being sober it just ain't doing much for me (5)
Republic of Kugelmugel - Another person I know of but I neglecte-
"Got dragon balls like my name was Vegeta"
.. *closes video* (5)
The Federated States of Micronesia - Yeah!! Alright!!! It's just a knock-off Kings of Leon!!! (4)
Greece - Moby has such a punchable face. (5)
Chad - I think you meant to represent the state of "Goth", my good friend "Chad." (4)
Italy - Alright, you people need to stop. This isn't fucking funny anymore. No more pandering. No more outddated alternative rock. (5)
Lativa - ..I..well..you know..Okay. Alright, whatever makes you wanna shake your ass, I guess. Just don't mess up your mascara (4)
Nicaragua - Very pleasant, hats off to you (8)
Sweden - I love Electronic Music :3. Just wanna dance all night, Party gurl! Oh my god is Bryce looking at me??? *Squee* (5)
Bhutan - You're cool, this is cool. Wait..this is from fucking NBA Street. ..ridiculous (8)

To be fair I found my band from a song off of Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit

Its just not the song that was on the soundtrack.
As the last rays of sunlight fade, one killer chases another through the tangled madness of the city.
A flash of steel announces the presence of his quarry.
The stage is set.
The night explodes.

actually the song from the soundtrack probably would have done better than the song i entered

depending on whether people hate metalcore or rap more

i dont hate rap
but yes i really dislike metalcore. i find black and folk metal to be the only subgenres with innovative/experimental content, rest of metal all sounds the same to me
