I don't know why i am making this. I hate books, but i have recently read a book and decided i need a thread to rate books.

Forgive me, Leonard Peacock

This story is about a teen, Leonard Peacock, who plans to kill himself one day and take another kid with him.
3/5-the start of the story is amazing, but slowly gets worse at the end
I wouldn't really recommend this, but it was written for those who enjoy thinking "what is he going to do?"

-what really ruined the book for me was the ending. In the end, he doesn't kill himself. I felt like the entire story was building up to him committing suicide,
but he didn't. Making the whole point of the story meaningless.
-His side stories where awesome. I enjoyed reading about him following people off subways trying to find happiness in the world.
-Another issue was how much they hinted at the ending. Half way through the book, it was clear he wasn't going to do it. He already wimped out of it once.
-The whole "gift" concept was really weird.

I would not let an elementary school kid read this. It goes deep into topics that are very harsh. Also, the use of the "F-bomb", and other words would not make it the best for someone in elementary school. I wouldn't recommend the topic to anyone though.
