Where my Computer Bois at?

Post Post #0 (ISO) » Tue Apr 02, 2019 11:31 am

Hey, I just set up a second monitor on my computer and it is causing stuttering for any videos I play.

GeForce GTX 970
Intel Core i5-4590
8 GB Ram
1360x768 resolution for both monitors

Was I suppose to do something to prevent the stutter? I'm using HDMI for my main monitor and DVI for my second.

Probably this.

Use each monitor separately to see if there any issues with either.

Do you have both hooked up to the video card?

yeep. there are several variables you can halve there to troubleshoot and some info given would need clarity aside from specs

was it happening before the second monitor was added - does it happen if you disable the second monitor through display properties if it was not
does it only happen on some videos or some players? so is it all of dvd/youtube/mpegs/VLC etc or just some of them
plus the questions above (that screen res natively is super nonstandard) and you haven't mentioned the monitor models

if there's nothing in the above you'd start asking questions like how many HDDs do you have and how full are they (whether a video file directly from a USB runs fine or not) and what OS are you running, possibly what antivirus you're using

I'd try out a dual DVI setup. It's just smoother in general if your outputs to your monitor are the same. (I sometimes use HDMI for an HD TV 3rd monitor but my dual computer monitor setup is DVI/DVI)
