Oh good, thanks to panzer's entry, I don't have give any points to a 2/5 star song.

4 stars each to the Korean one, the Spanish one, the instrumental one, and the break up song, 3 to everyone else i'm voting for

Part two!

Polska:

First impression:
A song about a card game... well this could go anywhere.
Reminds me of...:
Every rapper in history, ever. This is ok for background music. That's kinda what I'm getting from it.
Overall rating:
7 out of 10.

Lithuania:

First impression:
Home made video?
Reminds me of...:
FIFA YouTubers that add arrows and special effects and overused memes way too much to try and get more subs. Except this band knows how to use them adequately.
Overall rating:
8 out of 10. Nice tune!

Hungary:

First impression:
So this was from a movie? That
could
be good...
Reminds me of...:
Depressed people. At least the first few couplets do.
Overall rating:
6 out of 10.

Norway:

First impression:
No no nooo, not Rasputin! And it's a, "Bounce remix". Ugh hell no!
Well, the video is not available. So glad, now I don't have to listen to it.
Reminds me of...:
Those times where I visit my nephew at a party, we play Just Dance together
(which I never play)
and smack his best record in one attempt.
Noice
Overall rating:
1 out of 10. Okay, 1.5 out of 10. Everybody knows the song.

Japan:

First impression:
Another Japanese pop-band. The previous songs by Japan were great to listen to, so show it to me!
Reminds me of...:
The greatness of Japan and its music. Nintendo is great, remember? These songs just make me wish that Japanese bands would make some English songs for once, so we can all sing along and dance to it!
I can still dance to it now, but I won't, cuz my dancing sucks.
Overall rating:
9.5 out of 10.

Iraq:

First impression:
Now that's a great opening to a song!
Reminds me of...:
One Direction. Don't ask me why, but it does.
Overall rating:
8.5 out of 10.

Bhutan:

First impression:
If this is chosen instead of something else, does that mean it's a downgrade? Hmmm... :shifty:
Reminds me of...:
A game called Drawception, where there was a user named Aku wearing Aku Aku. He always drew the same thing. That was a guy with a traditional African mask like shown in the clip. I still get the creeps thinking about how accurately scary their drawings where.
Overall rating:
7 out of 10.

Liechenstein - So I unironically love this song. It's definitely better if you know who BDG is and his lovely semi-absurdist brand of comedy (tbh I think his siblings song might be a better choice for those unfamiliar with him) and definitely better with the presentation preceding it since it sets up literally everything used in the song. Not sure why they didn't link the studio version though: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJTeVOOFMHM. But yeah I LOOOOVE this song and especially the educational rap and dream ballet are kind of amazing. 10/10

Switzerland - Pretty good background music but doesn't completely enthrall me. I usually don't go for purely instrumental music but I was entertained and it didn't drag on. 7/10

Sweden - Opening was good and then it became a metal song. I don't like shouty metal but at least it sounded a little epic. Also the bassist looks a lot like a guy from a meme. 3/10

New Zealand - Yeah now this is pretty damn great. I don't understand most of it but the inflection of everything still gets to me and the actual music I can definitely dance to. 9/10

Finland - I love AC/DC! 7/10

Djibouti - Sad man is sad, I think. But yeah, nothing really distinguishes this much from other sad man sings about heartbreak songs, so it's good if you are really into that genre but like...not much beyond that. Still gets a bit of a rise out of me so I'd put it at slightly above average but still very forgettable. 6/10

USA - Oh...oh no....no no no no. I do not do this, barely got 20 seconds in before the screaming started. Skipped around and there is some good guitar but the screaming overpowers it. 1.5/10

Poland - Yeah, I don't expect this song to do well, rap tends not to do great in song contests (like I checked the winners of past contests and only like 5 of them could be classified as any form of rap and most of those were closer to talking over a slow track). But this song, I love it, like I love good wordplay and this has plenty of that. Like I love the line where he disses Lil Yachty and mumble rap and brings in more modern pop/internet culture into his rap. Also I think the backing track just...works really well with it. This guy has bars. 10/10

Lithuania - Slots into the pretty good category. I like the song (very upbeat has a lot of sax and a good lead singer) but I feel like the lack of polish due to it being a live band session kind of works against it. 7.5/10

Hungary - Very slow talking over a constant beat with a decent chorus. The lyrics are great and with a bit of a catchier beat I'd likely have this with a much better score but it's just a bit too slow for me. Still definitely above average by quite a bit. 7/10

Norway - Ugh what have they done to ra ra rasputin. No, no, plz stop. This is not my style and everything I like comes from the original song. 4/10

Japan - A bunch of very pretty korean boys doing a decent k-pop song. Doesn't get stuck in my head but I can appreciate it at least and I am a sucker for decent kpop. 7.5/10

Iraq - This song is a 5/10. It is forgettable, not bad, not good.

Bhutan - I didn't like this song at first but it definitely got better as it went on. Kind of vaguely reminds me of redbone but like...quite different. Definitely something I could see as something to listen to as I walk down the street looking cool. Still feels like something is...missing. 6.75/10

Liechtenstein - 5 - fuck you kevin punt.
Switzerland - 3.5 - I normally don't give videogame music very high scores, because most of it really doesn't work outside of the context of being music you hear in a videogame (and, like, most of the covers of videogame music are just bad). this is absolutely top tier videogame music, and I can absolutely imagine someone who's never played a videogame in their life loving this one, so maybe I should be giving this a higher score, but it's hard to escape the fact that I know this song was designed to be accompanied by a completely different sensory experience, and I'm biased to feel frustrated by the incomplete experience.
Sweden - 2 - I would really like this one if this person didn't shout so much! too bad there's so much shouting!
New Zealand - 2.5 - this is pretty nice. it's not, like, my favorite, but it's pretty nice. that's all I have to say about this one.
Finland - 3.5 - hey this is a pretty good Led Zeppelin song! thanks
Djibouti - 5 - I feel like I should hate this song for reasons I can't put my finger on, but you know what? I love it. I love this song. it's great!
USA - 0.5 - according to this band's Bandcamp page, they're from Toronto. I wonder how physically close those of us who were at Toronto Meet got to these folks?
Poland - 1 - I don't really have a lot to say about this one, but I guess I'll give it a 1 because it was roughly a 1 in terms of quality. you can tell that this song is approximately a 1 from the 1 I gave it.
Lithuania - 5 - oh damn this is the slap. diggin that REVERB
Hungary - 1.5 - the best part of this song is the extremely overly literal translation subtitles. this person's inability to convey meaning in anything resembling a poetic tone is wild!
Norway - 2 - this is fine and well made and what not but it makes me feel nothing at all. I like listening to songs that make me feel emotions about things
Japan - 2 - ah, yes, that Song Contest staple -- the k-pop song that is fine, I suppose.
Iraq - 2 - I've disliked most of the pop punk that's been submitted these past couple Song Contests, and this one from 2003 is far from my favorite, but it's better than average, all things considered. if the instrumental at the end went on for like 5 more minutes this would probably be my favorite song.
Bhutan - 4 - this was a wild experience and I liked it!

Dug:

Djibouti Dean Lewis - Be Alright- Great sound and original vibe
Iraq Something Corporate - Me and the Moon- one of my fav songs by them
Poland Chris Webby – Solitaire- cool sound, someone i always say I want to listen to more of.
Hungary Leningrad – Svoboda- I want to check this out again
Finland Led Zeppelin - Hey Hey What Can I Do- Classic deep cut.

Didn’t Dig:

Liechtenstein Brian David Gilbert - The Perfect PokéRap- good for him, but not something id do more than glance up for at the con waiting for the next panel to start.
Norway Turisas - Rasputin (Bounce Remix)- not sure if I found the right one, but pass on russian dance folk metal?

S’ok:

Bhutan SBTRKT - Wildfire- weird, but in an ok way.
Japan ONEUS - Valkyrie- I appreciate the effort put in, but not my cot.
Lithuania Knower - Overtime- that girl was the best part.
USA Red Handed Denial - Empire- Didnt love the screamer, not in that sense.
Sweden Lillasyster - Total Panik- I had no idea what it was going in, or coming out.
New Zealand Cuarteto de Nos - Ya no sé qué hacer conmigo- Cool, but I have no idea what they be saying.
Switzerland Mario Galaxy Orchestra - Gusty Garden Galaxy (Wind Garden)- Kitchy, not my scene.

I'm looking forward to getting back into these. I did like 4 in a row around the low 100's and then took a break from the site for a while. I have so many ideas for submissions!

By the way, I already know what song I'll be entering for next contest. And, well, I might as well just play for Switzerland again... I could pick another country but everyone'll know which song is mine anyways.

Also, please reserve pagetop for Song Contest to post results.
